  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Why do you believe in the evolution theory? (2)

Every word that comes out of my mouth, sounds, at best, in a condescending and irritated tone, and the more excited I get, the angrier I sound, regardless as to the emotion. My vocal tone doesn't match my emotion even when I try to consciously change it. In fact, I am so emotionally tone def, that I can only hear the emotion in my voice if it is recorded and played back to me (because the recording sounds higher than my voice normally sounds to me, my weirdo brain hears the emotion in it on a recording).
We are probably all nuts in different ways. (at least according to the demonic, drug pushing, mind phrackers who make a living pretending they are the sane ones:) )

So are imaginary mental diseases like ADT. Long as they can push the drugs and book appointments I guess someone makes a living.

Wow, haven't heard a reference to ADT (attention deficit trait, which I suppose is another term for ADD/ADHD) in that terminology.

I have ADHD that is so severe that I becoming a sort of catatonic person (I become so full of energy and so lacking in focus that all I can do for hours on end is walk in a circle, because I can't even focus enough to procrastinate, and the energy is so overwhelming that my legs will burn after hours of it but I can't stop).

True, a lot of people diagnose it too much, but it is very real. It even shows on brain scans http://www.akidjustlikeme.com/1d0c2460.jpg and how much of a difference treatment makes https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/fa/d4/c9/fad4c9490efbeb6dbe6d6bab83f144d1.jpg .

Oddly enough, ADHD is caused by inactivity in the brain, not an overcharged brain.

Would you allow the children you love to suffer painful deaths when you could cure them with nothing more than a snap of your fingers? If you withheld that cure, what kind of person would you be?

Hence my initial reference to this 'talking snake', which seems to have managed to gain some degree of supremacy over 'us', the Universe and God.
Perhaps God cannot do the 'snap of ... fingers' because God's hands are tied.
That would be the one narrative.

The Christian narrative is this: God being separated from 'us', the Universe and himself, entered human history by one man with the primary mission to 'destroy the works of the devil'
Furthermore the work of the cross, is meant to be the beginning (though some insist on immediate finality) of reclaiming 'us', the Universe and setting God free to eventually heal everything.

Typo:) I think it is ADD

I heard how something like 7 to 10% of kids in public schools were on the drug ritilin some years ago. That grossed me out. Probably 50 years ago they would have just considered it fidgety or something.

Example:

"
By the time they reach high school, nearly 20 percent of all American boys will be diagnosed with ADHD. Millions of those boys will be prescribed a powerful stimulant to "normalize" them. A great many of those boys will suffer serious side effects from those drugs. The shocking truth is that many of those diagnoses are wrong, and that most of those boys are being drugged for no good reason—simply for being boys. It's time we recognize this as a crisis."

Obviously you know more about what you're going through.

What do you think of this article: Have We Taken The Wrong Approach To Treating Kids With ADHD?

It might help some, but having kids randomly walking around the classroom would be distracting to the other kids. Think of how weird it is to see someone randomly walking around while an instructor is talking. Also, pacing like that can freak observers out.

Also, my ADHD is exceedingly severe, I will move until it hurts and still be driven to keep moving. Even worse, I have dexterity problems, and as a kid would trip and fall and hurt myself whenever a paced around.

I also challenge this idea that the excessive movement only happens when I am thinking deeply. I pace the worst when I have nothing to occupy myself.

Plus, 11% of school age kids have ADHD? Baloney, the condition is over-diagnosed, especially in young boys. Little kids can be distractible and overly energetic, especially in that first year of school with the sudden need to sit for 8 hours straight that they had never done before. I think that any borderline cases should be left alone until someone is at least 8 years old, because unless symptoms are severe, the kids could just be more energetic than expected. Plus, ADHD drugs have side effects that are unpleasant, including stunting growth, insomnia, anxiety, and even depression. When my mom and doctor were still trying to figure out the right dose for me, one of the tries made me exceedingly ornery for some reason. Obviously, pills should not be the choice people jump on with young kids, unless the condition is very severe, as is the case with me.

Thank you for being so open.

I don't really like to prescribe (I ain't a doctor!!!) but wondered if you've ever tried adjusting your diet and combining that with some sort of modified prayer/meditation techniques? i.e Yoga? or other?

XD prayer and meditation for a person who cannot stop moving even when their body hurts from it? I don't think so. And diet is not going to make a dent in a condition as severe as mine. Would you ask a schizophrenic person if they tried meditating the hallucinations away and be serious about it?

There's actually been an increase in the number of people in middle age or beyond being diagnosed with ADHD. They had the disorder in their childhood but were not diagnosed or treated.

Correct.

The main issue with some over diagnosis has been; family physicians diagnosing the disorder, just based on parents testimony etc..

To be properly diagnosed, one should engage a psychologist who will utilize tests for the patient and also incorporate behavioral interviews with the patient and with parents, teachers, etc..

If kids are restless and want to pace...or jump out the school window, or whatever I can't blame them at all. It is healthy! The crapola they teach in schools is boring and the mandatory attendance all day every day is absurd. The culprit is the pagan schools. Some kid gets tired of the babysitting factory where bibles and prayer are out and drugs are in, and they addict him to drugs and make them feel like they are nuts.

dad said:
Man's empathy is like an almost dead little battery compared to the Sun of empathy of God's love He puts in a man after they accept Him.

The ability to understand and have compassion involves love. God is love. He said He would come into us and dwell with us. Him in us. That means we have a greater capacity for empathy sympathy compassion and love.
Man without God has a tiny and limited capacity that is easily corrupted and influenced by sin and spirits.

Any people living now have some history showing cruelty, selfishness and being hurtful to others, with a lack of compassion and love in some ways. There is a standard for there to be showing much more in that. All understanding we have of love, concern, and compassion were modeled in the biblical account of Yahweh's perfect creation, where all for our and all creatures' need and happiness was provided. We never are living up to such fully, but we have a fallen nature. God calls us to greater perfection showing such, the perfection in all that is only possible from God, and it would be through Jesus Christ. Christians in truth are often coming well short of that, but no unbelievers are coming to it on their own. But evolutionary processes as according to theory for it would not lead to anything of the sort.

I feel yoga is dangerous and basically an eastern religion.

Christians are not perfect, but we are on the road to perfection! That won't come in this life though if I read it right. The empathy or other 'good' things that those who reject Christ can muster up is small compared to God's standards.

I can't imagine what you you think jumping jacks are. Sit ups? They should rewrite the movie "Footloose" where you are a preacher trying to stop kids from doing Satanic Calisthenics.

"
Yoga (/ˈjoʊɡə/; Sanskrit: योग, Listen) is a physical, mental, and spiritual practice or discipline. There is a broad variety of schools, practices and goals[1] in Hinduism, Buddhism (including Vajrayana and Tibetan Buddhism[2][3][4]) and Jainism.[5][6][7][6] The best-known are Hatha yoga and Raja yoga.
The origins of Yoga have been speculated to date back to pre-Vedic Indian traditions," wiki

For those concerned about bad spirits being invited in, yoga is dangerous. For those who could not care less what spirit possesses them...bon apetit.
