How do you distinguish between legit Televangelists and fakes?

For instance, Ill be watching Joyce Meyer or Joel Osteen and feel peace. But if I see or hear Benny Hinn for example I don't feel peace. I don't like judging preachers but I feel like Benny Hinn and some other preachers I saw are charlatans and just in it for the money.

Good point, but I don't think that Jesus was running a healing meeting in the sense of what goes on through TV or by healing evangelists. The healings here happened in a private home.

Hey, Paul was a tent-maker. I wonder if he thought of making a large gospel tent?

5000 and 4000 men plus women and children sounds like Jesus was fine with huge meetings. (Matthew 14, John 6, Mark 8, Matthew 16)

I hate to say it but so much of what I see comes across as entertainment rather than ministering.

Television ministries are so misunderstood for the most part.

Just today our Pastor was ranting about some crook wanting a seed to bless a lady.

It was a form letter that the crook had a vision this lady would be blessed but first she had to send him a seed offering.

One problem is when people fall for this junk, is that they have not studied their Bible enough to know better.

Another major issue is the true Ministers who bring the Gosple to millions, are grouped with the pigs abusing God's Word.

All I can say is the bad apples must be atheist,because they have no convictions in stealing using Christianity to do it.

I believe in prosperity, but you can't find in God's Word where he expects you to pay for it, only believe.

entertainment like joel osteen did is good for reaching out non believers.

benny hinn preaches things to build up spiritual warfare warrior. The material may not be suitable for reaching non believers.

Joel Osteen calling is to reach out non believers. His corporate image that needs to maintain is: hope.

benny hinn calling is to connect spiritual realm and physical realm. miracles is his trademark. holiness is necessary. without holiness, don't hope to get miracles.

to give simple picture, consider united states that has army and diplomatic service. benny is army, and joel is diplomatic service. Benny Hinn on the army side complete with full fledge of weaponry, joel pretty much like diplomatic service.

citizen runs to US embassy when having problems. But to join the army, you will grow muscle and got training to repel enemies. army protect citizens. different needs commands different actions, and different actions requires different structure / methods. But structure / methods requires you, human, to function.

now as you understand benny hinn more, i hope you understand what he needs. he needs you to be a strong soldier. and to be strong soldier, peace is irrelevant. you will create peace, instead of depending on joel osteen / joyce meyer for peace.

i, embrace both. it's difficult for 1st time, but powerful at the end.

Not too long ago, I had one of those moments when... "half of my mind took off and I sent the other half to find it... and they both got lost." Kind of leaves you with that "empty headed feeling." I picked up my Bible for comfort but couldn't concentrate. I have several ministers taped on DVR and went through several of them to help snap out of it (so to speak). I tried Copeland, Winston, Creflo, and maybe Wommack but just couldn't be comforted by them during this "particular trial." I clicked on Joel Osteen and it didn't take long at all to and Joel ministered God's Word in his "own way" and renewed my mind with his positive message of the Word. The timing was perfect!

I know what you mean,when I am down or need some peace about somthing ,I search.
Often it comes from God's Word being listened to,narrated to my heart.
Then there are Preachers who are spot on with the message, what I have noticed is often different Preachers will be on the same topic.
This is good confirmation the Lord wants us to hear his message.

different preachers for different people, because everybody has different upbringings.

Benny Hinn is too harsh for somebody, Benny Hinn is a miracle workers for somebody.

Joel osteen is joking too much for somebody, Joel Osteen bring joy and comfort for somebody with "particular trial" post no 50.
