CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi,
I would have to give up God. I mean to use your words, I believe I would have to give up God, in order to to accept what ever you mean by the Restored Gospel. I prefer, to accept your religion.

There would be no merging because you would either accept what we have to offer or you wouldn't. A merging would indicate a mix or a blend of the two belief systems.
And I'm not sure what it is you believe you would give up. Based on my above comment I guess you would have to give up your incorrect beliefs and your faith in the doctrines of men.
However, I think the real answer is that you probably aren't supposed to merge into our "superior religion." It's obvious from your language that you do not believe what we believe and have a level of disdain for our beliefs. I personally would not want you to merge with us because that is a recipe for disaster. You just follow what you believe is right. And I will do the same.

Therefore:
1. Since I don't and never have yet, listened to the doctrines of men, that part of your guess is no problem for me.
2. I would always be willing to give up my incorrect beliefs.
However:
1. You didn't mention what is neither a belief, nor a doctrine of men yet. Would I have to give up that, also? Would I have to give up God?
2. There is one more item, but that is for later.

Well, sure. Every one of us on this forum speaks on our own authority. But do you expect that other LDS will agree that you would have to give up God to accept the Restored Gospel? My guess is that we'll find 100% of LDS in agreement that you wouldn't have to. We worship God, not nothing.
