Can't disagree with that. Since scripture defines faith without works is dead, then knowing Jesus without doing His works is also dead.knowing Jesus.Originally Posted by MormonFriend

We are always choosing to do something every waking moment. If we are not doing His works, whose works are we doing? What % of His works is good enough?

Some things are way beyond our control! So I guess "every waking moment" would not include snoozing through a sacrament talk given by your friendly high councilman?
Because your question is not valid. You ask about a spiritual principle from the carnal perspective. They do not mix. It has nothing to do with filling a required quota. It has much to do with a person's conversion. When a person is converted, the Spirit influences his thoughts and actions.non responsive.Originally Posted by drstevej

If a person is not doing God's will, then a different spirit is influencing his thoughts and actions.

If a person is not doing God's will, then a different spirit is influencing his thoughts and actions. That would be an indicator that conversion is still lacking, perhaps similar to Peter's lack when Jesus said: "But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren."
We are all, like Peter, lacking conversion, and our imperfect actions reveal it. Obedience to the works that Jesus gave us to do, over time, is what builds our conversion. A good sign of true conversion, I believe, is when we do His work not because we have to, but because we want to. We will discover, as we discipline ourselves to do His works, that the natural results of doing them (with proper application of faith and humility) will bring the greatest joy we can experience. Hence, we are converted and do His works continually because we want to, and not because we have to. The carnal perspective becomes a spiritual perspective and conversion grows. The more we do His works, the more we love God with all our heart, might, mind, and strength.
How important is becoming converted? Matthew 18:3
And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
it is a very valid question, an lds member said God requires 100% obedience, so you would have to be a hundred percent every day from now to your death to make the celestial kingdom, you have no chance.
The simple fact of the matter is that no human has yet met the LDS requirements to enter the Celestial Kingdom, including even Jesus Christ.
Wouldn't that include God the Father, too? Because "officially" (contained within their 4 standard works) there is no doctrine that she exists. Only referenced in hymns and speculations by some of the past "prophets, seers, and revelators", among others.

amazing Jesus doesn't get to be with God.
