  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hey You...ok she said this over text?

I always thought it was a little more affectionate than the average greeting. Ladies, please correct me if I'm wrong. As a guy, I'm used to "what's up bro" and "hey" or "yo dude" so when a girl says "hey you" I kinda think she's excited to talk.

Is is a common thing said or does it mean more.

Did she say "Hey you...okay" or "Hey you?"

because the former would imply that she is concerned about your mental or physical health.

If not then, she is trying to do the Okay? Okay thing from The Fault in Our Stars. If you have not read the book, shame on yourself, go read it now, and do not discuss things further.

If the later then she was just using an informal version of English to send salutations and make sure you took as personally as possible. If that is confusing then perhaps a refresher course on English might be in order.

I don't know... "Hey you!" Could mean different things to different people. To me, "Hey you" in a text is just a nicer way of saying "Hi". It's more personal. It doesn't mean she has feelings for you or anything, it's just friendly. I wouldn't read into it anymore than that.
