• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Federal judge: Arguments against gay marriage 'are not those of serious people'

Another one broken right out of the mold I see.

It's been awhile! Have you searched this thread yet to look for the answer to the question you like to repeatedly ask me? It won't hurt you to do a little homework, ya know.

I would hate to have to deal with the cognitive dissonance you must experience, I'm sure it's not pleasant.

I guess you're done asking questions. Whew! Now give me a big hug!

BTW, why didn't you answer my question? Have you searched this thread yet to look for the answer to the question you like to repeatedly ask me?

So...how bout those arguments and that federal judge...:sorry:

The what? And the who? Oh yeah, we're a bit off topic, aren't we? ;)

Personally, I think the judge should simply stick to judging the facts of a case rather than judging the people making the arguments. Obviously, I don't agree with his decision.

Which facts should the judge have stuck to? Because from what I've read, there were no facts presented by the anti-SSM side, just arguments, and those were bad arguments.

So I am really curious as to which facts you think were presented and allegedly ignored.

I guess we're going to go back to arguing again, huh? :argh:

No, we're going to discussing. I'm not arguing anything, I am asking which facts you think were ignored.

I think he should have ignored his thoughts that the people making the argument weren't serious.

It's not the people making the arguments that weren't serious, it's the arguments that weren't serious.

Yes, he judged the facts that were presented and declared that they didn't deserve to be taken seriously.

On what Constitutional basis do you disagree with his decision?
