Subduction Zone said:Bad Bad analogy. Doctors have learned over the years and fixed many of their past mistakes. How has the Bible learned over the years and fixed its past mistakes? You can believe the Bible literally but reality disagrees with you.
It's always interesting how those who use the Bible in the same sentence as "men" almost always feel the need to add the qualifier "fallible."No, the bible is a bunch of books written by fallible men,
Your arguing with a book? Lol. The bible never made mistakes people do.

Is there a subset of mankind, known as "infallible men"?
Subduction Zone said:Sorry, but if that is the case you could find physical evidence that supported the myths of the Bible. I made no decision, the evidence made the decision for me.
What evidence? Is it not clear that physics can't even agree. Where's your evidence of Force?

Kind of a crazy thing to do, don't you think? I certainly don't view trying to understand the diversity and distribution of life on earth as an insurrection against the supreme being. But its not in "defiance of reason" to believe that a supreme being came out of nothing and created itself? Personally I see people like yourself as deluded, rather than liars. Science is the best way of understanding physical reality. You don't understand it, so you cling to a false interpretation of scripture instead. One that makes you fell special and superior. If we cannot imagine them, how can we understand them??? Personally, I think there is good and evil in all of us. I don't see them as "real forces," battling one another. There is more grey in the world than black and white.
I don't understand. Evolution is a natural process. How is any force involved? What was the Force used in evolution?
What was the Force used in evolution?

Certain claims have been shown to be false. The challenge is still open for evidence that has passed peer review in a well respected journal. And claiming that demanding evidence for supposed supernatural events is quite reasonable. If there was an Adam and Even in the last 100,000 years there would be evidence of it. If there was a flood of water over 5 miles high there would be evidence of it. If there was a flood that wiped out almost everything there would be genetic evidence of it. In this case lack of evidence is extremely strong evidence against.
Such as...?
How much water is inside molten magma? How much more respected are the scriptures? When did the last scientist die because of his devotion to a journal?
So martyrers are getting rid of some crazy people?Martyrdom only proves that some people are crazy.
Only in recent years has science discovered that everything we see is composed of invisible atoms. Scripture tells us that the "things which are seen were not made of things which do appear."
Medical science has only recently discovered that blood-clotting in a newborn reaches its peak on the eighth day, then drops. The Bible consistently says that a baby must be circumcised on the eighth day.
At a time when it was believed that the earth sat on a large animal or a giant (1500 B.C.), the Bible spoke of the earths free float in space: "He...hangs the earth upon nothing" (Job 26:7).
The prophet Isaiah also tells us that the earth is round: "It is he that sits upon the circle of the earth" (Isaiah 40:22). This is not a reference to a flat disk, as some skeptic maintain, but to a sphere.
God told Job in 1500 B.C.: "Can you send lightnings, that they may go, and say to you, Here we are?" (Job 38:35). The Bible here is making what appears to be a scientifically ludicrous statement... but radio waves travel at the speed of light.
Job 38:19 asks, "Where is the way where light dwells?" Modern man has only recently discovered that light (electromagnetic radiation) has a "way," traveling at 186,000 miles per second.
Science has discovered that stars emit radio waves, which are received on earth as a high pitch. God mentioned this in Job 38:7: "When the morning stars sang together..."
Solomon described a "cycle" of air currents two thousand years before scientists "discovered" them. "The wind goes toward the south, and turns about unto the north; it whirls about continually, and the wind returns again according to his circuits" (Ecclesiastes 1:6).
Science expresses the universe in five terms: time, space, matter, power, and motion. Genesis 1:1,2 revealed such truths to the Hebrews in 1450 B.C.: "In the beginning [time] God created [power] the heaven [space] and the earth [matter] . . . And the Spirit of God moved [motion] upon the face of the waters." The first thing God tells man is that He controls of all aspects of the universe.
The great biological truth concerning the importance of blood in our bodys mechanism has been fully comprehended only in recent years.... Yet Leviticus 17:11, written 3,000 years ago, declared that blood is the source of life: "For the life of the flesh is in the blood."
Germs weren't discovered until 1845, but God gave His people specific instructions for when they encounter disease: "And when he that has an issue is cleansed of his issue; then he shall number to himself even days for his cleansing, and wash his clothes, and bathe his flesh in running water, and shall be clean" (Leviticus 15:13). Until recent years, doctors washed their hands in a bowl of water, leaving invisible germs on their hands. However, the Bible says specifically to wash hands under "running water."
Luke 17:3436 says the Second Coming of Jesus Christ will occur while some are asleep at night and others are working at daytime activities in the field. This is a clear indication of a revolving earth, with day and night at the same time.

So martyrers are getting rid of some crazy people?
I don't think you understood the question.Yep, themselves.
I don't think you understood the question.
Are those who martyr people, such as the Auca Indians, getting rid of some crazy people?
I have no idea what you're saying now.No, the martyrs are getting rid of some crazy people, themselves. I don't care if some missionaries succeeded or failed through martyrdom. Martyrdom is not proof of anything, I know you have a bit of a martyr complex yourself. All I can recommend is that you don't do it. No one will profit from such action.
