  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Since ammunition is often sold in 100 round boxes, he only had four boxes worth

So he was going to a date with all that?

Is it too much to ask that he be a responsible gun owner and take it home first?

Don't you carry an arsenal with you when you go out to dinner? It is becoming the thing to do over here in America.

To some, a responsible gun owner keeps his weapons with him and ready

I'm looking for Obama to make a move to get him released. Heck, he could trade any number of illegal aliens for one sergeant.
Come to think of it, I'd like to see him trade Biden, Holder, Reid, Pelosi, Michelle and Schumer. 5 terrorists for 1 sergeant, just like he did before

Even when traveling to foreign nations. There is some responsibility for ya!
Sorry, the information we have is that he ended up in a foreign nation due to inadequate signage in a construction zone. So fail

Right... Because leaving a rifle and 400 rounds in your car while you go in a restaurant is responsible.

And when you're an emotionally disturbed ex-soldier, "ready" takes on a whole new meaning...

Through no fault of his own.

The last soldier who accidentally crossed the border while carrying weapons was detained for a few days while the Mexican authorities ascertained that it was an innocent mistake, and then let him go.

Of course, the last guy didn't try to escape or stab himself in the neck with a broken light bulb, so it was a lot easier to ascertain his innocence...

Tahmoorsi is going to have to be held responsible for the things which are completely a fault of his own.

It is All his fault. Nobody else was driving him.

I see he is responsible for his guns but not responsible for driving them into Mexico.

Cherry picking responsibility!

Conservative logic -- the man's more trustworthy behind a trigger than he is behind the wheel.

Sorry, the information we have is that he crossed that exact border crossing at least three times before (and walked across the day before his arrest as well). So fail.
