• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

No AV. With the embedded age argument shows us that God wants us to believe in evolution whether real or not. You can't have it both ways.

Why an embedded age? Why a fossil record in that embedded age that demonstrates evolution?

I still want to know if AV's embedded age applies to fossils, and if so, how so. He gave us a clear timeline of creation w/ embedded age, fall, then fossils.

That's the difficult part he can't explain and I finally think he realizes the hole he has dug for himself with embedded age. I don't know why he wants to put the fossil record after the fall if it is embedded.

He has proclaimed that he will not talk about anything after the creation week.

Man was created in the 6th day. Jesus rose in the 8th day. So the fossils were embedded ... when God wasn't looking, as He rested on the 7th day?

I see you provided pictorial evidence of the fossils being embedded; Johnny on the spot with the evidence, you are.

If god is all knowing, how would it possibly miss any event?

Then you're quote-mining a term I use.

What is the difference between age and embedded age?

I submit that you not knowing the difference is where your problem lies.

it's nonsense.

Of course, if you feel you can describe it in a meaningful way, you go right ahead.

Age is what we measure. Embedded age is a fantasy you dreamt up in order to ignore the facts.

Really? "Age is what we measure"? I thought "they" measured isotope ratios.

Age is something that is assumed based on starting ratios that are also assumed.

No, thanks.

Whether I can or not, it doesn't excuse this doosey of a mistake:

Wrong.

Embedded age implies that a thing is really younger then it looks.

If Shiva creates a human being from scratch and builds it to look like a 30 year old male, then that human would have an embedded age of 30 years, but his actual age would be just a few seconds.

An interesting question is "how would we know?".

Suppose that a god created everything in current form only 10 minutes ago with embedded age and with all are memories embedded in our brains... how could we ever know?

How do you know?

Ow, that's right.... you forfaited your reasoning skills with that sentence in your signature. You just assume and consider it real. Right....

Not.

No.

Can God create a shirt tomorrow so old it falls apart with age?
If Shiva creates a human being from scratch and builds it to look like a 30 year old male,
"Look like" is where you're getting confused.

Adam "looked like" he was 30 years old, because Adam "was" 30 years old.
... then that human would have an embedded age of 30 years, but his actual age would be just a few seconds.
You're saying he would have an embedded age of 30 because he "looks like" he's 30, and that's not what embedded age is.

Again, Adam looks like he is 30 because he is 30.
An interesting question is "how would we know?".
You would know by subtracting his physical age (30) by his existential age (0) and the difference (30) would be his embedded age.
Suppose that a god created everything in current form only 10 minutes ago with embedded age and with all are memories embedded in our brains... how could we ever know?
That would be Last Thursdaysim.
How do you know?

Ow, that's right.... you forfaited your reasoning skills with that sentence in your signature. You just assume and consider it real. Right....
And you forfeited your reasoning skills with this post.

I create two rocks ex nihilo. I create one with two million years of embedded age and the other with none.

When you study them, your analysis shows that one rock is new and the other rock is old, despite the fact they are both the same age.

Am I being deceptive in making it look like one rock is older than the other?

ok so I got a question for you !

since you brought it up.. please tell us what would it take to make a young rock look like it had
"Embedded age" ? right there in those laws lies the secret to appearances.
and how appearance can be complete lies.

why don't they explain eyewitnesses and recorded history first? why did their fables start billions of years ago ? but they can't tell you about 3200 years ago?. or 2000 years ago? or 2800 years ago? or 4300 years ago .

but they pretend to tell you about billions and billions of years ago with completely 'indisputable' certainty they claim and teach that as facts to little children.

No assumptions EternalDragon. Assumptions in science, especially dating methods are based on repeatable results, pretty much like you know the sun is going to rise every day. We not only see it happen, we observe how it happens.

May I ask why you criticize something you appear to know little if anything about?

Doesn't it have embedded orbits then?
If I was a Day Ager, instead of an Embedded Ager, and believed that the days in Genesis 1 were eons of time, I would say the earth was created six eons ago, but has only gone around the sun two eons, since the sun wasn't created until the fourth eon.
