It seems that people are celebrating Lent more and more in non Catholic churches. Personally I think it's wonderful because of what it represents. For those that don't know basically it is a time of preparation of the heart. It is a time for us To prepare ourselves For the resurrection of our Lord. I like that churches are now celebrating Lent although you can just do it privately with your family if you'd like. Personally I do not see anything wrong with it. You can pray and fast you can give up something No matter how you celebrate it remember it was all for the resurrection. When starts on Ash Wednesday To Good Friday 40 days.
It seems like for Christmas and the birth of Christ people don't celebrate that the same way. All people do I'm not saying all people is prepare for presents and decorating a tree. Even fellow Christians Look so forward to Black Friday. Advent also is a time for preparation but that's another Topic.
Lent was not celebrated by the early Christians until the Council of Nicea.
Easter is not a day for chocolate bunnies And I'm sure we all know that. Anyway I just wanted to post a topic because I don't think it's bad that we are not Catholic Christians celebrate Lent.
Any Thoughts?
