  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

bummer, a similar thing happened to me. I took and passed the Pashto language test, and then a week later they told me that I would be doing artillery during deployment and that I would not be an American terp. the really funny thing is that we went and did partnership with the local Afghan army to train them, and they still kept me as artillery.

funny military

Taverna would likely be winding down for Lent anyway. In Greece, some tavernas did shut down over Lent. It just wasn't worth their while to stay open for the reduced trade. Greece may have a lot of problems, but things like that always left me with a good impression.

Mississippi is a very interesting place. Turns out that whole "Southern Hospitality" thing is not a myth at all!

found that out when I came to Ft Campbell. there is a massive Greek Church in Nashville as well, so combining Greek hospitality with Southern hospitality makes for one potentially fat ArmyMatt

only if your belly can't hold it all in. fortunately for me, I am like a human gulper eel (especially when it comes to Greek food).
