  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I don't think it's about not believing in the story. I think from athiest evolutionists, you guys mock Creationism and the Intelligent Creator with no respect. You guys call it a fairytale and a bunch of lies and false stories.

It does go to hating something that you guys "don't believe", but in fact you do.

Sorry Anya, you are in no position to tell others how they feel. I understand the comfort this gives you, but it is a false comfort, pretending you know the true feelings of others.

To me, creationism is a fairy tale, based on the knowledge we have of the world. Do I hate anything or anyone because some believe in creation, not in the slightest.

But it's not. Hell is where we all deserve to be.
God can only accept perfection in His presence.
And we are not quite there yet. ;)

I say nobody deserves an eternity of suffering.

I guess that makes me more compassionate than God.

What are you talking about? I take no comfort in seeing what I see on forums and from past expériences about the way people respond to God.

It goes deeper than just the 'fairytale" of creationism and we all know that.

Yes, you have the decision not to love God, He isn't forcing you.

Oh, no, he is not forcing you, he is just saying that you will spend an eternity suffering punishment in hell if you do not. But other than that, he is not forcing you, no.

You keep saying this but it doesn't match up with the big picture of your belief system. Your god is omniscient. He knows before he creates each person what they will 'choose' to do and what their fate is. Does this stop him creating those he knows are going to hell for the rest of eternity? No. Your god clearly thinks it's fine to create billions of people, each of whom he knows beyond a shadow of a doubt, because he is omniscient, is going to hell. He knew it before he even started making the universe. He could name every single person who would spend eternity in hell before anything existed at all. Did this stop him creating them? No. So who is ultimately responsible for them being in hell given that, being omnipotent, he had a choice whether to create those people who will suffer unmeasurable torment?

And how does that not register in your mind as being a problem?

You know what, I think this is a great question to ask God one day when you meet Him.

Because I am not God and I do not understand everything.

Not understanding a subject hasn't really stopped you from talking about it before, why stop now?

Because he's a god of love? No?

Oh no, because the people from these nations turned their back on God and participated in idolatry, sexual immorality, and witchcraft.

They continued to sin not caring at all what God said.

Remember Sodom and Gomorrah? Not ONE person was found clean, so that God would save these cities. Not one person!!

God is a God of love, He warns, He teaches, He saves, He helps, He showed His power over and over again.

And guess what?

The PEOPLE decided to keep sinning and to turn their backs!!!!!! It's not God, it's people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SIN, PEOPLE, SIN, PEOPLE!!!

Good question, Anya. Why DID he order them murdered? Why didn't he wait to see if they would change from their evil ways?

Because he already knew they wouldn't, right?

But he knew that before they were born, so why didn't he just NOT create them in the first place? Instead of sealing their eternal torment fate?

As a matter of fact, why even bother murdering them? They're going to hell, anyway, and hell is eternal. The Israelites, on the other hand were going to heaven, which is eternal. Why "punish" the non-Israelites with earthly death, when in the grand scheme of time, it's entirely irrelevant?

It makes absolutely no sense.

He did wait and wait and wait. And they stayed the same. God is waiting for you and everyone else now. He waits and waits.

Why do you need to look through God's eyes? You will never understand Him, He is very complex.

Just be satisfied and content with the fact that He loves you, cares about you and is waiting for you to go to Him for all eternity!! You have the choice and you can not see the future. You are in the present.

God is outside of time and can see everything in the same time. It is up to God to figure out why He created us and why some go to hell and other's dont. He is the judge, He is in control.

You are in the present, you are in control of your choices now. Your choices will affect your eternity, so choose wisely.

We will never have all the answers, thats all.

Yeah, but he knew all that before he made them. It's almost like you forget this simple concept with each new example you bring up. God is omniscient. He knew what each person would do before he made them. He had the choice to allow that situation with sodom and gomorrah to happen or not to allow it to happen. He decided to go for it. Whose fault is that then?
