  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have a question. The way some people think just boggles my mind. But I may be the crazy one hahahahaha.

So my question is this. If you get paid for the holiday and then you work 40 hours, and I have to preface this by saying that the person in question normally works 4-10 hour shifts, M-T. So for Labor day (Monday) we were all off and got paid. Then they all worked T-F which is 40 hours plus 10 hours of holiday pay. Because they don't usually work on Fridays (and this person has worked here for 10 YEARS) somehow he thought he should get time and a half for Friday even though he did NOT work over 40 hours and got paid for 50 hours. Who is crazy? Me or him?

I think that how the hours work is spelled out in the law.

I know when most maintenance people work a holiday they get double time.

Right because you would get holiday pay and get paid for working. They just worked on a day they usually don't but they got off for the holiday and got paid for it.
If it had been a normal week and they actually worked 5 10 hour days they would have gotten overtime for the extra 10 hours, but to think you should get overtime when you didn't work overtime, well that just boggles my mind.:doh:

Haha! To me it sounded ridiculous. He doesn't say anything to the BOSS, just me. He says "I'm surprised we didn't get overtime for last week on Friday?" and I replied, you didn't work over 40 hours, and then he says "Well I could have just said I wasn't coming in that day" to which I said you're right and then you wouldn't have gotten paid for Friday but yeah you could have.
It irritates me because he doesn't complain to the boss and then whenever the boss confronts him on something (which is rare because boss doesn't like confrontation) it's a WHOLE different story, "Oh NO there's no problem, I was just asking, blah blah blah...LIAR! LOL.
Oh well it is what it is.

SO I woke up pretty mad in the middle of last night. Seems someone in a big truck with aggressive tires ran across my lawn in the spring just as the frost was coming out of the ground. Wasn't a pretty site.

Thankfully I realized I've never seen this house or property before. Ah, back to a restful sleep.

So was it a dream then?

Feeling on the verge of tears today. Some days I can look at my situation and just know I need to keep plugging along and other days, like today, I feel like falling apart even though that does no good whatsoever. I suspect it is the full moon coming, but whats a gal to do? If only today I could see the light at the end of the tunnel here on earth.

Thanks guys! today is better, IDK why but maybe cuz I got enough sleep? My situation sure hasn't changed and I did a budget sheet yesterday and figured out it really isn't working so I need to make some changes and I am really gonna try hard to find something I can do online, while I'm at work, to earn extra money. I can't really get a third job unless it was set days because Kohls hours are all over the place, although it would be ideal if I could find something that paid a little better for a couple of days a week. I also can't see myself having to work all weekend because I would never have a day off and I just can't mentally do that unless it was for a very short period so we'll see.

Well today started out with a bang! My transmission in my truck is slipping. I had to drive to work in 2nd gear (auto) and it is going to cost me 1800 bucks that I didn't have. Woot!
I keep trying to dig my way out of debt only to be dragged right back down again. Praise the Lord!
Thankfully my boss is loaning me the company truck for the couple of days it will take to get my truck fixed, so at least I save the rental car expense. And thank God I didn't decide to claim bankruptcy or I wouldn't have a credit card to put this huge bill on.

This Sat. I'm going to one of the local corm mazes for the evening. One of the meetup groups set the date and time, last I looked there were about 90 people signed up to go. This is my 1st time doing one ... should be fun relaxing evening. I'll report back how it goes.
