  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have a black MacBook 2 1 and a new replacement battery. At first I had trouble getting the MacBook to power up with the new battery even after charging for a while. So I calibrated it following a video I found on YouTube.
Macbook battery not charging FIX !!!! - YouTube

What is happening now is the battery meter is stuck on 89%. I even installed Watts.
Watts for Mac - CNET Download.com
Watts shows the 89% charge as well. I followed the Watts instructions for calibrating and that didn't help.

The battery does seem to run for a good while, so it appears to be functioning. I just have no idea when it's getting low.

Someone had me recalibrate the battery...which I had already done. Same result. He said it's probably due to me using an off-brand battery. Not surprising considering how proprietary Apple is.

It's a wonder you are even allowed to change the battery yourself ;)
