Clint Eastwood just gave a speech at the Republican National Convention that won't soon be forgotten.

It included him talking to an empty chair ... pretending it was President Obama.

"We own this country," Eastwood said. Standing ovation.

"Politicians are our employees. When someone doesn't do the job, we have to let them go," Eastwood said, to a raucous ovation.

That was a great line. And one of the reasons I think it was so good is because it so succinctly articulated the simple truth we all (left, right, in, out) know - when one isn't doing the job they were hired to do - "we have to let them go."

Attendant with that line is the one he stated before it - [politicians] are our employees.

I almost choked on my chili though when he said "he can't do that to himself." And then later, "I can't do that to myself."

Implicit in that of course is that that's what Democrat politicians - via their ideology, as expressed in their platforms and policies - expect all of us to do to ourselves - which of course is one of the key reasons why their policies have always failed.

"You want us to... whaaaat?"

Most people recognize the absurd when they see it - regardless how it's spun or disguised.

And leave it to Clint to get directly to the heart of the matter so quickly.

Regardless of their public response, the GOP and the Romney Campaign can't be pleased that so much public attention has been diverted away from their candidate's attempt to address the nation - only to be focused on the pros and cons of Eastwood's speech.

Judging by the harsh criticism by the left of Mr. Clint Eastwood, I would say he gave a great speech.

I think the left heard some truth and and the only way they knew to respond was in line with how the President responds. With attacks.
