We are indeed talking about what God can do. Unless you know someone who can tell God what He can and cannot do???? Please tell us. If you can't tell God what He can do then tell us who can???? But I can answer that simple question. NOBODY can tell God what to do. Pretty simple, huh?
Fine. God can send sinners to Hell FOREVER.Nobody made any claims about what God CAN do. Please, stop with the manipulation and blatant dishonesty. When you stoop to such levels, you say more about your confidence in your position than you do about your "opponent's" position.
Dishonest would be saying that someone can tell God what He can do. You?
Fine. God can send sinners to Hell FOREVER.
I think it was YOU who was defending yourself. Not me. Remember??And, since nobody is doing that, you can stop with the accusations. You, however, have been accusing people of saying such nonsense, even though nobody has (at least not recently and certainly not from this side of the debate). That is dishonest.
I think it was YOU who was defending yourself. Not me. Remember??
Ok. To simplify, God can burn humans forever without asking you.I honestly have no idea what you are referring to here. I have no need to defend myself, unless you think we are fighting, in which case, I would rather just leave, before someone gets hurt.
I agree, It is ridiculous for humans to think that God can't burn humans forever! It's utterly ridiculous that some people will do this to the forum without thought for anybody else. This happens time and time again. Some people need a reality check.
Ok. To simplify, God can burn humans forever without asking you.
Eternal life, eternal punishment, NEVER ENDING!And He can save them or destroy them or give them all ponies without asking you.
That is a blatant lie.dollarsbill is implying that God intentionally punishes people that don't deserve it. What he's saying is illogical and unbiblical.
Eternal life, eternal punishment, NEVER ENDING!
No, just repeating what He said. Eternal punishment. Are you telling God what He has to do? What's it to you if He hands out ponies?
I love how everyone arguing in favor of a finite hell has completely ignored my post. This just goes to show these people do not want the truth, they just want a fairytale that makes them feel good. "I don't believe in a God that would torment people for eternity!" That's fine, but that aint the God of the Bible. Sorry. This "I don't believe in hell" heresy is a complete joke in light of scripture.
The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. -Revelation 14:10-11
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; -2 Thessalonians 1:8-9
Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied. -Proverbs 27:20
Yea also, because he transgresseth by wine, he is a proud man, neither keepeth at home, who enlargeth his desire as hell, and is as death, and cannot be satisfied, but gathereth unto him all nations, and heapeth unto him all people: -Habakkuk 2:5
And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. -Mark 9:43-44
No, just repeating what He said. Eternal punishment.
True, we may not understand justice and righteousness, like a child doesn't always understand the parent's judgment. BUT - the bible is full of examples of God berating people for doing something when they did know better. Man isn't oblivious to what's fair and just. Paul said that even the gentiles have "a law unto themselves" telling us, basically, the difference between right and wrong. Our conscience may be skewed, and our understanding may be limited, but we have a basic idea. That's why we can say God is good - not just because "the bible says so" but because He has proven it. If all we had was His word, we might as well take the word of the devil, or some human for that matter, if we're so completely oblivious to what it means to be righteous. That is certainly the definition for man.
So those who do not believe in eternal torment say, "this clearly isn't just", and those who do believe in eternal torment say, "this must be just...but we can't see how".
But what if God's definition of justice is not 'an eye for an eye'? I mean, none of us should be surprised to find out that His ways are actually not our ways.
