  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Well, here it is... a thread to discuss one of the best-loved (or worst-hated) "cutesy" comedies of all-time. It seems as though it's been more popular in reruns than it was when it was new many years ago.

What do you think of this classic sitcom? What are some of your favorite characters, episodes, scenes, etc.? What did you think of the spin-offs (such as "The Brady Brides") and reunions (such as "A Very Brady Christmas). What's your opinion on the remakes? You can also share interesting trivia, and talk about whatever you want regarding the series. This is our chance to say what we think, and discuss it.

My opinion? I think it is absolutely -- as they said back then -- "GROOVY"!

I liked the vacation episodes involving the family going to a western ghost town, the Grand Canyon, and Hawaii. I'm not sure if there were more like that, but those are the ones I remember seeing on Nick at Night in the mid-late 90s as a kid. The Christmas episode was nice too.

I enjoy watching classic television sometimes, although I mostly see this stuff on YouTube, not an actual TV.

I liked the Brady Bunch a lot. I liked the special, A Very Brady Christmas, too, 'cause it was nice to see them all grown up. I didn't watch the movie that made fun of the Brady Bunch and would not care to. I think the original Brady Bunch was a nice family show. I watched it as a teen and some of them were re-runs because "Cindy" started out the show as a little girl and we are just a year apart in age. At the time, though, I don't think I realised they were re-runs.

I personally didn't care for the parody movies they made in the '90s, either. It's like they made them ignorant to everything around them simply because they were from the '70s. And I think they exaggerated way too much on hairdos of the male family members. I mean, I understand that parodies will (and should) have a little exaggeration on some thing or another, but I think they overdid it when they gave them afros. Just my opinion.

I think I saw the Christmas movie once, a long time ago when it first aired -- and from what I recall, it was pretty good. If I remember right, I think Bobby was a racer and supposed to have been paralyzed in an accident on the track, which devastated him. All the original cast was there, with the exceptions of Cindy, who was played by a different actress.

I taped the Christmas movie, I should watch it again. I don't know if Bobby was paralyzed physically, maybe mentally? I can't remember exactly. And yes, you are right, Cindy was played by a different actress and almost didn't come home for Christmas. :(

Ok, I finally watched the movie again, not too long ago. Bobby actually was not paralyzed, but he was a race car driver and had been at it for over a year and his parents did not know about it. They thought he was still in school. Seems all of the children had something to confess when they got home. Like Marsha's husband had just lost his job and didn't want anyone to know, Jan and her husband were planning to divorce, but in the end decided to stay together because they still cared about each other after all. Anyways, it was nice to watch the Christmas movie again. :)

Well, i did love the Brady Bunch Goes to Washington (spoof) movie...LOL!

That particular one I have not seen, yet. I'll have to check that one out. I did, however, see it advertised some time back, and I recall noticing that they gave the actress playing Cindy the curled pigtails (the early look) rather than the braided "Swiss Miss" pigtails of the later years.
