• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Because of who i am and I am not allowed to talk about who i am on this General Forum...its very hard to make a point without getting kicked out for just being myself...its not just on here (not Moderate Christians you guys are great) ..why do i need to be bullied into hiding stuff that all straight Christians can talk about with out fear of being thrown out or attacked on. Why must I feel like im being evil just to say "my GF and I went to coffee today".

Any ideas, suggestions to get around this on here and other sites or should i avoid it all together and go to where I am totally accepted both as a person and a Christian. ?

I almost left this forum in tears because I felt so unwelcome

I'm sure that you could talk about almost any subject under the Sun and have no problem so long as it's not that subject. Is it all that defines you as a person or interests you?

If so, another forum probably would seem more welcoming, that's right. If not, welcome aboard.

it doesn't define me as a person at all or interests me at all
but if i have to avoid and hide parts of my life i bid adeu

so nice nice to meet you all but I don't fit well here at all...no point trying to be somewhere where i have to hide part of my life and others don't have to.
takes alot of soul searching...for those who don't have to hide part of their life,,,
i wish you all a wonderful happy time here because at least you can speak
for those who can't :)

God Bless....

You can talk about it and find some sympathetic ears in WWMC (the liberal forum), but "promoting it" is against the CF rules and WWMC doesn't have an exemption.

Well I hope you do stay, as not everyone is like that. My moderate views are what have put me on edge with the Catholic church, so I understand feeling like an outcast. PM me any time you want to talk. :)

But if you choose to find a forum more accepting we understand.

You can feel free to speak to me about THAT, or any subject. It saddens me that so-called christians would make you feel unwelcome for ANY reason. I thought christianity was all about realizing that none of us is in a position to judge anyone. I may not be making a lot of friends with this comment, but I don't care. The grace of God is open to all, period.

I have had a similar experience. I dont know if I will start too many threads because I dont see how my thread violated the rules but I am still on here responding to threads. Plus I have met a few awsome people on the PMs.

Welcome.

If we are talking about a sin that is different than a temptation.
Everyone is tempted from different things from time to time. We do not
come together to try and justify any sin, but encourage one another to turn from temptation and sin.
If it is our friends that are involved, that can be difficult. However just answer them as you would answer Jesus on what ever lifestyle or temptation that comes to mind.
Coming on a forum should be to seek and see if those on the forum could use encouragement. That alone can relieve you from needing to talk about things that might tempt you or your friends.
Whatsoever things are pure, good, honest, think on these things.
Be pleased that Jesus loves you, that is enough.
