• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The Church of the Global Warming Fascists (AGW) revising their theology, another fall

If the deniers had any actual science on their side, they wouldn't have to cherry pick quotes to attack individual scientists who believe AGW is happening.

It's quite pathetic really.

But then again, the OP does think Obama is a Muslim.

And from Kenya. End thread.

Yet, it shows that not ALL scientists agree now doesn't it? Or do we discount those scientists?
Given a large enough group there will always be disagreements. And of course we shouldn't discount those who disagree, but the scientific process has a way for those who disagree to voice their opinions, through peer-reviewed research and in that regard those who disagree with the established models don't do well. Rather they by-pass it and take their case to non-scientists and try to use their credentials to create an appeal to authority as if having a degree makes everything you say on a topic accurate.

AWG deniers always say follow the money, but then never apply that to their guys. There's much more money in denying climate change than there is in the actual science.

Alert: 'Gaia' scientist James Lovelock reverses himself: I was 'alarmist' about climate change & so was Gore! 'The problem is we don't know what the climate is doing. We thought we knew 20 years ago'

The Global Warming myth is less about science than about a confluence of political agendas masquerading as science.

Co2 'is' a tiny fraction of the atmosphere, without which earth would be a giant frozen ball in space supporting no life at all.

Well, even if the deniers are wrong and the fascists are right, global warming is very very good for baseball!

Is global warming causing more home runs in baseball?
Tim McCarver thinks so.
Yet home runs are at a ten year low, guess you haven't heard. Some one who's been in baseball talks like he doesn't do his research, yet thinks he know about "climate change".

Maybe big leaguers not using steroids is causing global warming, eh, Tim?

The fear mongers always worry about 50 years from now instead of right now. People don't care about "global warming". It's last on peoples' minds. The economy is what people care about. Most Americans also think "climate Gate " is real i.e., they fudged the data to prop up their baby theory designed to guilt and shame people out of their wealth for pennance for a made up problem that doesn't exist for a cure that is impossible.

The oceans, the sun and vocanic activity is what determines climate. Well over 90% of "carbon footprint" comes from water vapor. So all we have to do is get ride of clouds and the world will be saved!

And the US Army is planning for contingencies based upon the planet warming up. If it were fake would they bother? They don't plan for the second coming of Christ. They don't plan to be overrun by Bigfoot tribes. They don't plan for global floods. But they DO plan for the warming of the planet causing sea levels to rise and the political destabilization that will cause.

I know you rocket surgeons have a deep-seeded fear of science. Because when you start to respect science you lose your grip upon faith as the most important tool mankind has. When that happens your belief in god takes a backseat to evidence-based rational thought. And god-forbid that ever happens. So naturally you attack climate change. You attack evolution. You attack anything that might make you think a new kind of thought or change the way you live. That's called, "conservatism" and I get it.

But lately that's been taken to an entirely new level. It's bad for you, it's bad for me and it's bad for our country. Wanting to keep the things in place that are good is one thing. Dismissing anything you don't like and simply claiming it's not true regardless of evidence or rational argument is horrific.

Water vapor is H2O. Tell me, where in there is the Carbon located? I see the hydrogen. I see the oxygen. I fail to see any carbon. So tell me, since you're the chemistry genius. Where's the carbon in water vapor?

Awww, we "attack"? That is so sad. The only chance of political destablization is the implimentation of barbaric climate change taxation and regulation, because global change or climate warming is all political.

It is what people do when they are faced with conflicting facts, ingore them. It's pride that makes people think they can lower the sea levels, heat the outdoors or cool it. Oceans, vocanic activity, and the sun are just a little bit bigger than human activity. The fact that you don't get that speaks volumes. Tell you what, get all feaked out as you wish, I will still be a conservationist.:)

Remember folks, the most commonly held view is always the correct one!
Correct! The most commonly held view based on sound scientific data arrived at through study and research is always the right one.

I'm not the LEAST bit surprised that your understanding of climate science can be summed up in one sentence.
That doesn't, of course, make it correct.

Climate change is nothing to do with politics. Its only in America I hear anything about climate change being political. The Republicans made it political to protect their money and sweep the problem under the carpet. Forgive me if I think there is more to life than money and that not everything is about money.

The oceans, the sun and vocanic activity is what determines climate. Well over 90% of "carbon footprint" comes from water vapor. So all we have to do is get ride of clouds and the world will be saved!

Well yes these things to help determine climate. That doesn't disprove the fact that other things have an effect too.

Climate change have EVERYTHING to do with politics. The problem is that deniers/skeptics think that politics comes before evidence and research and not the other way around.

Silly billies.
