  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

He was responding to the passage in Hebrews, so probably because it's credited to Paul.

He probably doesn't realize that while the Book of Hebrews is attributed to Paul, that's been in dispute from the earliest days.

Well, as you know, unlike Paul's actual letters this one doesn't say he's Paul. Nor is Hebrew's written in Paul's style.

What does this have to do with the topic?

it my proof that the enemies of christ has twisted and perverted the gospel message by adding and taking away from scriptures

Jesus sowed good seed...the word of God...the enemy has sown corrupted seeds....the good seed brings forth children of the kingdom...and the corrupted seed brings forth tares

the woman could be a nation or a certain religion....in any case false doctrine (leaven) is hid in the good meal....

I always am amused at that reasoning. It must have been changed. From what was it changed then? Do you know? If you do not know, how can you assure me that the entire thing has not been changed?

Then explain to me your alternative interpretation of what the Gospel of Matthew reports Jesus said:

The "subject" in this passage is "John the Baptist" (I bolded those parts).

And then Jesus said "this is Elias."

If Jesus wasn't talking about John, who was he talking about?

There's no one else who appears in this passage.

Unless you want to say "this is Elias" applies to "all the prophets" or "the law", but then you're applying a singular to a plural and that's not likely.

i dont know why you are trying to convince me that Jesus taught that elijah came in the form of john the babtist....believe this if you want to.....but as i said before John is not Elijah.... any more than Jesus is the father....if you cant understand that....im sorry....go tell your ideas to someone else....i dont want to hear it....as forest gump says..."thats all i have to say about that"....peace

not all can come to christ...only by the spirit that draws him

im sure the holy spirit has drawn you but you have rejected it as truth....you made the choice....i cannot convince you one way or another.....if you have not seen the truth by now....you may never see it.....the just shall live by faith....but you need proof...because you do not walk on blind faith remember?......i just know that i know that jesus is the truth.....if you cant recieve it by faith.....im sorry.....i dont know what else to do but pray for you....and let you go.....peace

ps....if you need to see a sign to convince you....ask him for a sign....he gave paul revelation ....he was not even worthy .....yet Jesus showed him mercy and revealed himself to him.....ask and you shall recieve....seek him and you shall find him....but keep in mind how the wicked men wanted a sign from him...and he did not give it....the lord has the right to not reveal himself to anyone he pleases.....why did he not give them the sign they ask for?,,, is his buisness....if you sincerlly seek him.....no doubt you will find him....and you will have your proof....

Always the presumption of being correct. I truly do fear those who have no doubts more than anything else.

why is doubt (constant doubt) not a good thing then?

why knock some one and try to shake their faith? is there some reason you feel the need to point out "but you could be wrong?"

as a Christian, i can tell you i KNOW my Faith is real. and my Faith is observable in this world, as well as God's promises being true. that is all the "proof" i need.

You do realize that you are therefore attempting to shake my faith, right?
