So, we have YHWH giving inspiration for Jews (One of whom was a Pharisee) to write about the Messiah primarily in Greek at a time when most Jews believed it was better to eat swine than to speak Greek, and considered Josephus a traitor for working with the Greeks? Makes no sense to me.

I found this and I thought it interesting and a little applicable to your discussion.
Hebrew or Greek Ketuvim Netzarim New Testament

I have a tendency myself to think of Josephus as a traitor. I think he was in the pocket of the Pharisees. It's just a thought.

So essentially you are stating my commentary isn't valuable. Well gee, thanks. ^_^

It's a serious thing for a Messianic or anyone in Jesus/Yeshua to be dragged back under the law if that is what Jewish commentary accomplishes and many times the young in the faith are easily dragged away by all sorts of distractions from the truth of God's word. I notice you didn't answer my question.

I have never ever claimed that Messianics need to follow the law. I'm not sure why you would even mention it. I thought it was common knowledge around here that Jews don't believe non-Jews need to follow Jewish (or Mosiac) Law.

I notice you didn't answer my question.

Because I do not answer to you. If you feel my comments are useless then ignore me.

Something else that would surprise you... Yeshua was a P'rush aka Pharisee. And many, if not most, of His followers were also of the Pharisaic sect.

Actually that shouldn't be such a surprise to someone who is Messianic.

Believe me - your belief in Jesus is just the beginning of our differences, no offense.

No offense taken Yonah. I've been thinking about how to reply to this and the only thing I can think to say is that you and I are no different than any other two people conversing on the internet. The only important thing that makes us different is belief in Yeshua for salvation. I don't hold anything against you because you are Jewish. Why should I? So, what's your beef with me?

You aren't sure why I would mention it? Perhaps because Scripture mentions it and other Messianic teaching sites mention it as well. We are to be on our guard against returning to the law for reconciliation with God.
Please understand, I'm not attacking you.

I don't think you answer to me. We all answer to God though. I was hoping that you might be interested in Yeshua for your salvation. I was thinking that I might witness to you about what Yeshua has done for me.
That's the long and the short of it.

Didn't you just say that Conservative Jews will not make it? That Conservative Judaism doesn't cut it? I'm a Conservative Jew. Personally, you've just gone out of your way to show why you think none of us are gonna make it to life.

Yahshua and the disciples taught the keeping of Gods commandments, So what ever you have been taught or read, you need to re-evaluate.:kiss:

Yonah, that is the most beautiful thing that anyone has said to me here at CF. Thank you! I mean this most sincerely; you've brought tears to my eyes because that is what Yeshua has called all of His followers to do. I have other reformed and conservative Jewish friends. I love them so much. Several I have known since I was five years old. They do things all the time that are outside of God's law and they don't seem to care. I literally physically hurt at the thought of not having them with me in heaven. My love for them and my love for Yeshua is what spurs me on.

I don't know you at all but you are a child of God. Don't you think that I, as a follower of Yeshua, should point out to you what Yeshua pointed out over 2000 years ago? The truth is that I'm not all that sure that Orthodoxy will get you to God because Yeshua said that no man gets to the Father but by Him, but the older Scripture does point out that God's grace extended to many who did their best to be obedient so if anyone has a chance under the law, it will be the Orthodox observant, faithful to God not to man.

None of God's commands have been done away with in the new covenant. It was the Mosaic laws and priesthood that was done away with. No matter what you think Paul may have said, he did say keeping the commanments is what counts. Yahshua said that heaven and earth would past away before any command of God would.

New Bible Yanks 'father,' Jesus As 'son Of God'

Matthew 23:8-10
8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. 9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. 10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.

It isn't appropriate to "yank" Father from Jesus teachings.
