I wonder how many people realize Christians are considered terrorist by our own US goverment? Thank you to send bill "S. 1867" that was passed(last I heard). Some of the items on the list suggest things such as this make you a possiblie terrorist:

  • Provide identification that is inconsistent or suspect or demand identity “privacy”
  • Insist on paying with cash or uses credit card(s) in different names
  • Make suspicious comments regarding anti-US, radical theology, vague or cryptic warnings that suggests or appear to endorse the use of violence in support of a cause
  • Demonstrate interest in uses that do not seem consistent with the intended use of the item being purchased
  • Believe in the return/coming of a god
  • Possess little knowledge of intended purchase items
  • Make bulk purchases of items to include:
  • -Bi-pods or tri-pods for rifles Store up to 7 days worth of food
  • -Weatherproofed ammunition or match containers
  • -Meals Ready to Eat
  • -Night Vision Devices; night flashlights; gas masks
  • -High capacity magazines
Look up the bill online and you will see the full list somewhere. Or lots of stories about it. Lets assume you don't think thats bad. Further more the bill allows them to arrest you and take you to places like guantanamo. Oh and you cannot question them and have no rights to anything like a fair trial.

1. Got a link?
2. Did you do ANY research on this?

Dude! Like CHILL OUT! I have heard similar stuff and I have yet to find any proof. I recall hearing here on this thread and elsewhere on the internet the rumor of section 1032 taking our rights away. That is the furthest from the truth.

section 1032 said:
(b) APPLICABILITY TO UNITED STATES CITIZENS AND LAWFUL RESIDENT ALIENS.—
(1) UNITED STATES CITIZENS.—The requirement to detain a person in military custody under this section does not extend to citizens of the United States.
(2) LAWFUL RESIDENT ALIENS.—The requirement to detain a person in military custody under this section does not extend to a lawful resident alien of the United States on the basis of conduct taking place within the United States, except to the extent permitted by the Constitution of the United States.

Read that, then search for it online.
And the next time you start hollering "the sky is falling!", DO YOUR RESEARCH FIRST! PLEASE?!?!?!?! :tutu:

No insult meant to Christians, but people who look forward to the soon coming end of the world aren't necessarily the safest people ever. I'm not saying that all Christians like that are dangerous or delusional, but that it could lead to people being ok with things like global warming or world war to set up the conditions for the end.

Anyway, I hope this doesn't hijack the thread.

This is quite true actually. Go visit a board like Rapture Ready. Those people seriously cheer at the thought of the end of the world every day. Every event that happens in world news, they believe is another glorious sign of Armageddon.

Truly frightening people.

Another useless thread about Christian "persecution" in America. Nothing to see here
Again I have to ask why are so many athiests here? How are christians suppose to talk about things while these guys are making comments to stir a the pot into chaos? And whats sad is I see to many take their sides as christians. Which is exatly what they want.

With that I should mention I am all for if they legitamitly ask questions because they want to be a christian. But I've yet to see an athiest actually show any real "want" when it comes to this subject.

::takes a deep breath::

True there are some who are fanatical or almost cult like about it. Especially those false prophets who claim to know the worlds end date.
But it does say in the bible we should rejoice in his return. I look forward to it. I'm tired of living in a life where people can be so.....non human. Give me heaven and the new earth. No more sin! Sounds great to me!

Oh also it does say to look for signs of the end times (Aside from the prophicies that have come true). Alot of people do go overbaord with it. If I dog gets run over they scream "ITS A SIGN!!!". lol.

I really don't understand why people are like this as well. I find it disturbing and sending bad messages to people that don't know God. IMO I think these feed this end of the world stuff.

And as for this prophet thing, if a prophet says it's going to happen. It will come to pass.

This is one of the few places us heathens are allowed to voice our opinion. Want pats on the back? Go to a Xian only section.

From what I've seen he won't do well there either. I've gone in there a few times and found the Christians ther to be more level headed than the ones where us non-Christians are officially permitted. A much lower percentage who jump at shadows. (and a much much better knowledge and understanding of Scripture).

Maybe they should just have an athiest section. Where athiest can make topics but no one can see them but other atheists. Problem solved. :)

Seems counter-productive for a Christian Forum to have areas Christians cannot visit.

There is absolutely nothing to prevent non-Christians from going into the Christians only areas and viewing.

I've gone in a handful of times and posted without problems.

I've been told that there used to not be any Christians only areas, and the inference is that a subset of the non-Christians would go in and be disruptive and rude.

I can completely understand why the Christians here would get tired of having to deal with the problem. Sad for botjh Christians and polite non-Christians.

If someone is obnoxiously rude, report. Otherwise, try to love. Casting my vote, I like that it's mixed here.

Oh I like that it is mixed here also. And as I've said I've gone into the Christians only from time to tiem and participated in htereads without ever having an issue.

But there are those who without the current rules go in and ask 'questions' which are in fact attacks on Christianity and then complain. As it stands now someone doing that has an extra strike right away and one more and they are gone.

You come in here starting a thread about how some law designates all Christians as terrorists, provide zero evidence, got people on both sides of the religious and political fence pointing out the obvious to you and you have the nerve to complain about my post? Did you even read the bill yourself.

You got a problem with "so many atheists" feel free to go to a Christians only forum where everyone will pat you in the back.

I'm going but what I read and what christian lawyers are telling me ir really means. True it does not say "Christians are terrorists", but thats because then it would be to obvious and people would complain. So typical government is they word is just right so people can speculate but can't complain since it isn't worded specificly.

Case in point. I respect an athiest until he purposley comes on a christian forum just to cause trouble. Theres no reason for an athiests to come into a topic about gays (for instance) and point out christians are wrong because gays are born that way. Its just asking for trouble. In all my years of being on various forums I've only once seen a athiest become a christian. Most are like lawyers, they twist words and say things just right as to be at that line of an attack.

My best friend who I said is athiest at least respects my beliefs just as I respect his. If more atheists (on forums anyways) acted like him I'd be fine. I get tired of having to feel like I most defend everything I say because an athiest disagrees. Its why with the exception of that one forum I used to go to, I avoid non christian forums usually because I don't want to be "bible thumpy".

You are not getting it at all. Go an dread part of the bill, try to find anything that looks even slightly like what you siad in your first post.

Hats off to you if you can find it. I can't others who seem to be better at searching than I cannot find it. I'm inclined to think it is not there.

What's wrong with atheists being here? I like them being around. Just because we have different beliefs doesn't mean they are bad people. There is a Christian only section specifically so you can have discussions without atheists interjecting. However, I find the Christian only section rather pointless since it's mostly Conservatives where logic and evidence are meaningless, thus no discussion goes anywhere.

Just be glad there isn't a General Apologetics forum here anymore. That was chaos. ;)

I will also point out all Christians disagree on things. One of the biggest issues being the gay issue. There is entire community forum devoted to people who support LGBT people. It's called Whosoever Will May Come.

So an atheist isn't stirring the pot by bringing that up on a Christian board, anymore than a Christian who has no issue with it is. And FYI, gays are in fact born that way.

However, let's not discuss that here as we know that will get this thread closed.

1. What lawyers have you talked to? I want names in case I want to search them online. Most are like lawyers, they twist words and say things just right as to be at that line of an attack.

2. "Most are like lawyers, they twist words and say things just right as to be at that line of an attack."
Did they twist your words or did they point out the obvious? That you presented a claim with no evidence in order to fuel a sentiment of persecution against Christians in America? Because, you see, it's been DONE BEFORE. It's been done with prayer and creationism in schools and God in the Pledge.

3. I respect Christians just fine. But when they make a claim, I want something other than that claim along with a sprinkling of emotional appeal.
