• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Well, for one thing I've never heard a non-OCD person have worries about liking bad news. It's just us. I always wondered why I felt this sense of excitement when something bad happened or why I laughed when crying was appropriate. It's only recently that I've been reading the comments of other OCD sufferers and found out that that is a problem that we share, which says to me that it's not us but the disorder that we share that makes all that happen. Plus I don't want to enjoy such things, so why would I enjoy them? It doesn't make sense.

I suppose even if it is sociopathic I didn't choose it. I just don't like the only reason I want to change is so I wont go to hell not that I actually want to not enjoy it. Makes me worry God won't let me into hell because in my heart I don't want to be different.

You are not sociopathic. If you were, you would not be concerned. The very fact that you have brought it up here raven is that deep down you don't want to think that way. Take it to the cross. Confess it. Ask God to renew your mind and change your thoughts. He will work with you! God knows us already :) I know it's sometimes easier said than done. But I have battled with all kinds of thoughts and by admitting them to God, I find each day God changes me. Hang in there!
