Are you asking God to jump through hoops, to do tricks?

All I'm asking is if God is real, that you - or others in this forum - ask him what polar direction I'm sitting in as I type this. If God is real and wants me to believe he exists, then if he's a rational being, he would reveal to someone in here what polar direction I'm sitting in.

That might be a legitimate question to ask some of the people who claim to speak for God. Prove that you really speak for him and reveal some information that you wouldn't normally have access to but God would. Doesn't really have anything to do with testing Gods knowledge so much as it does testing peoples claims of communication with God in a literal question and answer format like that. It could help get to the bottom of how well the communication takes place and how full proof the method is.

Actually Cieza, I have told you before that God gave Jesus as that 'rat'. If you think about what the expression means that you are using, it is mafia lingo for someone who spilled the beans. Jesus has done that perfectly. So Jesus is that rat. If I listen to the meaning you intend to portray however, it is not that God doesn't care whether you believe He exists, because He gave His only son to suffer the death of a criminal for the sake of you and me. In fact it is you who is stubborn and who doesn't care whether you believe He exist's. If you did care to know God then you would already have found all the answers you need, instead you are making excuse after excuse why you ought not to believe. I'm getting quite fed up with it, you are actually causing me to lose my patience with you. Surely you aren't as stupid as you pretend to be?

I've appreciated some of the feedback you've provided in your other posts. So let's back peddle a little bit. I have been told by many Christians that the following are true:
1) God is a non-physical being that knows everything and can do anything
2) God wants us to believe he exists
3) Christians have personal relationships with God
4) Christians communicate with God

Now given those 4 items, it would not be unreasonable for a non-believer such as me to ask a Christian who can communicate with God to ask God a question that only I would know the answer to. If the answer came back with precisely what I knew - and there was little room for it to be a coincidence - then it would suggest to me that there really is someone out there who knows everything. This is most definitely not an unreasonable request - especially since I've never seen any evidence (or anything close to evidence) that a fully omniscient & omnipotent being exists.

I think you are insane. I watched my grandmother's demise to bowel cancer, do you think she cursed the one who had given her life? You have a very selfish attitude. When Jesus is King there would be no reason why the buildings are substandard and earths atmosphere will be stable because we will concentrate development on efforts that matter, not just milking the cash cow that is Earth's natural resource. Don't you think global warming, and ultimately, greed, are responsible for what you don't like? I am so eager to see the new Earth!

I am not insane. I am only processing what is presented to me. My threads and posts in here are based strictly on my first hand observations and what Christians have told me. Since my eyes and ears are always wide open and I get out and see the world, I have made more first hand observations than the average person. That leaves us with what Christians have told me. Perhaps the way Christians have conveyed their belief system to me has failed to serve it justice and has only resulted in confusing me.

Personally, I think the Bible is just a book of good morals written in parables and probably 99% of it is not meant to be taken literally. Jesus is likely a parable as well. And "God" is most certainly just a word used in lieu of something else, which Christians will never come right out and say.

I doubt that -given the OP your sense of logic is highly debatable - as someone suggested here already your challenge falls down because

a) it assumes God will answer such a silly question
and
b) that the person asking God is receptive of God's answer
and
c) God would answer in such a manner that is clear and precise

and so on.

First question is to test God's knowledge:

By saying "Christians communicate with God" do you mean that these Christians have told you that they can ask God a specific question and God will give them an immediate answer? I've been a Christian for over 20 years and I have never met another Christian who can do this. This is not taught in the Bible. No one can give you the kind of evidence that you demand for the existence of God. What we can give you is a good reason to believe in the God of the Bible. What you do with that information is up to you.

We can certainly do so, but asking Him this question by no means obliges Him to answer it.

God has given plenty of evidence upon which to rest a belief in Him. Answering your silly question is, therefore, not necessary. We must all of us come to God on His terms, not ours. He is, after all, God - and He is not lessened one iota by your refusal to acknowledge Him. The only one who loses out by your rejection of God is you. God isn't sitting in Heaven gnawing fearfully on His nails, quivering with anxiety over whether or not you'll believe in Him. Far, far from it. He knows you need Him and He has graciously made a way for you walk with Him, but if you don't, well, you will one day face Him as a wrathful Judge.

This is a very revealing statement. It loudly proclaims your deep bias against the notion of God. The fact is, there are millions of Christians around the world - including very intelligent and rational people - who have examined the evidence for God and found it thoroughly convincing. The issue, then, isn't that the evidence for God is insufficient. And fussing over the matter of proof of His omniscience and omnipotence is merely a weak way of justifying your continued rejection of your Maker.

God sees through all the silliness you frame as "rational objections" in your thinking to the heart of who you are. And He will deal with you accordingly.

Yes, the operative word is "can". That He has chosen not to is either indicative that a) He doesn't want to, or b) His people don't have sufficient faith to divine the Spirit. Since faith is a gift, it would then be logical to say that in the case of (b) that it is ultimately a result of (a). God does not want to answer your mundane question. He did speak to you though, if you care to remember.

2) God wants us to believe he exists

3) Christians have personal relationships with God

4) Christians communicate with God

Now given those 4 items, it would not be unreasonable for a non-believer such as me to ask a Christian who can communicate with God to ask God a question that only I would know the answer to.

Contrarily, that is not the role of God's people, we are not psychics. The role of a Christian is to facilitate your relationship to God by introducing you to Jesus Christ. This means we are to assist you in establishing that relationship for yourself. You aren't trying to achieve that and God has given you what you need but you haven't taken heed of His wisdom. You are barking up the wrong tree.

If however you want to ask God a serious question then I would gladly divine the Spirit on your behalf. Notice that this is not a matter to be taken lightly, to represent God is a terrifying responsibility - a person's eternal fate may rest upon the words I say, so please respect that.

Well I must say that I'm not surprised it isn't working for you, perhaps that is because I know Gods nature a bit better than you do. Others have said you can't boss God around, they are completely correct. You need to esteem Him higher than you esteem yourself, and also humble yourself accordingly. Need I remind you how enormous and mighty this person is, who knows all the sand on the sea shore and all the hairs on your head, He can squash you like an ant and groom you like a pet. If you want to engage with Him you will have to accept His rules. You appear to not be interested in doing that, but only interested in forcing Him to play by your rules, I think that is arrogant. His rules are perfectly reasonable.

You have been given the primary Bible verse that directly addresses your request, but perhaps you don't own a Bible or just don't want to look for the lesson Christ gave: Luke 4:9-13 (KJV)
9 And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence:
10 For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee:
11 And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
12 And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
13 And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.

The main problem I see is that you are soliciting believers to sin by tempting God with this "proof" of His existence on your behalf. You won't even take responsibility for the sin of tempting God.

Jesus was asked to prove His claims and authority and this was His response: Matthew 12:38-39 (ASV)
38 Then certain of the scribes and Pharisees answered him, saying, Teacher, we would see a sign from thee.
39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given it but the sign of Jonah the prophet:

God has already given you the sign you need to believe He exists and that was the sign of Jonah (Christ's death and resurrection). So now it is not a matter of proof but one of choice; to believe in the honesty and accuracy of the Gospels or not. It is always about choice, it is never about proof.


The Christians communication with God is not always what even the Christian expects, for instance: 1 Kings 19:11-12 (KJV)
11 And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake:
12 And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.


We as believers look for God to reveal Himself by our own preconceptions but He reveals Himself in ways that He knows will affect us the most and that is usually in ways we least expect.



Let me ask you a question; do you only believe in the material? Do you believe only in what you can touch, see, hear, or smell?

God definitely can answer you. He knows even what you were wearing when you were sitting in the chair at your computer. But why should He reveal it?

So if someone says that you're facing a direction you are facing, and they're right, what are you going to do? Idolize that person? Think that person has the right God? Will you listen to them and take their advice wholly? Or will you think, out of N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W, NW that they just got lucky?

Or is this just a game to see if God will answer? Or is this possibly a game to mock God's people and God (who you believe is non-existant)?

If it is a game, God does not play games. You have to understand that, if there is a God and people that say there is a God are right, he is omnipotent. He doesn't need you to tell Him what to do. You're a mere, tiny little dot on the scale to Him (if you're even that). And yet, because of His great, and unending love for you, God the Father sent his Son to earth to die so that you could go see Him eventually.

Why did He send his son? Because you were so dirty in your sin that God the Father couldn't look at you, and he needed someone to clean you up. That cleansing comes at the cross, where you become whiter than snow in your spirit. Then when your spirit separates from your body, it can be clean and go to be with the Father of lights.

However, as you sit mocking and saying my words are a sham and I'm fooled, He sees you, and knows every thing you think, and everything you will think, and everything you could think. And the entire issue is that, if I am wrong and there is no god, I have lived a good life. If there is a God, and you're wrong, you have to eventually deal with Him and His rules. You'll be in His game, with Him calling you out, and you won't like it.

I don't like to get in to these debates because it scares me. I really don't like to be the last one that has to tell someone something. One person that I sat earnestly with and tried to convince her that there was a God was 22. She said she didn't want to deal with that issue, didn't believe in God, and wasn't going to deal with the issue until she was in her 40s. I asked her again a couple of days later to reconsider, that there was a God, and that Jesus wanted her to be saved. She told me she didn't want to talk about it. Two days later, she fell off her horse while riding deep in the woods on a trail with her friend, and she broke her neck, and although her friend tried to get help, this girl died.

Stuff happens, and you need to be prepared. Right now, you are not.

Get prepared, for the time is near.

Lack of an answer from God leaves us where we're at before I started this thread. That there is no evidence that a fully omniscient & omnipotent being exists.

So if you ask and get no answer or the wrong answer, it puts us no further back than we were at before the OP.

God communicates in my heart. How do i put that in words?

They also claim that God hears everything, knows everything and wants us to believe he exists. By that rationale, if a Christian asks God what polar direction I'm sitting in as I type this, they should get an answer back from God stating the precise polar direction I'm sitting in. The lack of an answer merely reinforces my position that the Christian God - as Christians describe God - does not exist.
