Do you know how many saints were condemned by Rome as "heretics?"

It was no different than when the Sanhedrin shouted "Release Barabbas!" for us,
or when they stoned Stephen while Saul held their coats.
That event of Stephen is when my bro Saul/Paul is shown on the scene :)

Stoning of Stephen against the Law

Acts 7:58 and they cast [him] out of the city and stoned [him.] And the witnesses laid down their clothes at the feet of a young man named Saul.

Speaking of our bro Saul/Paul...he was sought after
by the very same Pharisees he once belonged to.
When the Lord opened his eyes, he then preached
the very same Way as he once persecuted. An example
of the blind hating the truth and wanting to silence it,
even when it meant murdering one they once called "brother".

After being captured in Antwerp, Tyndale was tied to a stake,
then strangled, and then burned. His last words were, "Lord,
open the king of England's eyes!" Does anyone think there is
anything new under the sun? Blindness and self-righteousness
wear many masks, but they all hide the same face.

Lazarus was also sought by and under sentence of death by the Chief Priests.
Conincidentaly, he is mentioned in Luke 16 in the parable of the richman and lazarus, the only person, other than Jesus, to be ressurected after being dead 3 days  :)

John 12:10 Counsel yet the Chief-Priests that also the Lazarus they may be killing.

Having translated the Bible to english language so that more people will be able to understand the Word of God is genius!
All people got their own views and beliefs depending on what they have learned, read or heard. If people are learning things out of heresay but won't even have the chance to study them yourself is a false belief.
He has made the Bible readable, for people to be able to study the Word on their own. Teaching people that -the ideals that were taught to us before have the good side and bad. it's up to you to choose...

That for me is genius and following God's command! --- to spread the WORD!

need to rethink how to say what I am thinking :)

You cannot really vote on this poll without saying all Catholics are wrong, or saying they are right. And you cannot say Tyndale was a heretic..
I won't vote but I will say that Tyndale was misled, and just angry because the King would not allow him to translate the Bible into English, saying it was not necessary nor needed. When he fell under the influence of Luther, he was pretty much not his own person anymore, and the translation was full of Luther's teachings and interpretations..So, to vote on any of the ones listed, would not be an accurate statement. Or maybe I am misreading the poll..

You bring up some interesting points I wasn't aware of.
I should have added an "other" option, which I normally do but neglected to in the poll. Would that have sufficed?
Thanks for responding.

edit to add: I could show a post on a thread where one member of a Denomination calls another Denomination "heretics", but I don't want to start a flame war here

Well, the thing is Tyndale in himself was ok. He's known as the Father of the English Bible, and Luther was alright as well..in the beginning. Both men had a heart for God and tried to make the Word known, and have it translated and spread out ..What Luther did incorrectly was have his own notes and interpretation of scripture translated into the English Bible. He also became quite vocal against what really should have been known as heresy and wasn't, and spoke against it. i.e., buying one's salvation with money and good works. The good King did not like this..;) When Tyndale left the Catholic church behind, because of his terrible treatment, it was said he also included in the translation statements against the Catholic church. Luther became more anti Jew later in his life, saying they all needed to be killed, etc..
When looking at the scriptures, one really needs to look at from where they came from. What translation are you reading, and do you really know WHAT you're reading. For example, many things have been left out of Mark, that some of the translators didn't think fit there. How do you know what was supposed to be there or not? You go back to the beginning from when we first had the Bible, and look at how it translated down throughout the ages.
So, to say Tyndale was right in leaving Catholic behind, I would feel I would be saying the Catholics are wrong in their belief, and I don't think that can be debated here. It's just a poll :)..And, the other options I don't feel I could honestly answer. So, yeah, another option would have been great. Maybe asking if we felt it was wrong for Tyndale to translate the bible into English?

Thank you for that thoughtful post.
I have a thread concerning Tyndale and the Great Bible and perhaps when I have time, I will create a poll thread on it

King Henry VIII and Great Bible question

I brought this up on a post on another thread but got now response so I thought I would make a seperate thread on it.

What affect on Christianity and Theology did the Great Bible that King Henry commisioned have?

And does anyone have any views on this particular english version of the Bible?

http://www.greatsite.com/timeline-en...m-tyndale.html

*snip*

...Tyndale was then strangled and burnt at the stake in the prison yard, Oct. 6, 1536. His last words were, "Lord, open the king of England's eyes." This prayer was answered three years later, in the publication of King Henry VIII’s 1539 English “Great Bible”.

Great Bible - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Great Bible was the first authorized edition of the Bible in English, authorized by King Henry VIII of England to be read aloud in the church services of the Church of England.

The Great Bible was prepared by Myles Coverdale, working under commission of Sir Thomas Cromwell, Secretary to Henry VIII and Vicar General. In 1538, Cromwell directed the clergy to provide "one book of the bible of the largest volume in English, and the same set up in some convenient place within the said church that ye have care of, whereas your parishioners may most commodiously resort to the same and read it."

I believe that is the greatest miracle/wonder performed by Jesus in the NT

Lazarus and 2 witnesses of Reve 11 similarity

John 11:39 Jesus is saying "take away ye! the stone".
Martha is saying to Him, the sister of the one having deceased "Lord, already he stinking, for it is fourth-day
43 And these saying, to a great Voice He cries-out "Lazarus, hither out!"

Reve 11:12 And they hear a great Voice out of the Heaven saying to them "Ascend ye here!".
And they ascended into the heaven in the cloud and observed them, the enemies of them.
