  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Are Allah and Yaweh the same God?

Are Allah and Yaweh the same God?

  • Yes they are

  • No, They aren't

  • They are similar, but not the same

It seems you have more research to do. In even the most basic examination, it is clear that "Allah" is not the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Elohim).

According to the Christian and Jewish understanding of the Scriptures? Absolutely.

It all rests on what you consider to be true: the Qur'an stands and falls with the claim that previous scriptures have been "corrupted" by Man.

However, the Qur'an contains material in relation to Jesus that's taken from the Infancy gospels: fabrications that were written as late as the 3rd century, with no historical basis whatsoever. That alone, to me, is ample proof that the Qur'an is just as fraudulent as the Book of Mormon, although considerably less embarrassing as a work of literature.
(Honestly, Joseph Smith's feeble attempts at imitating the early modern English of the King James Bible are unintentionally hilarious.)

So: is Allah supposed to be the God of Abraham? Yes, absolutely. That's what the whole religion of Islam is built upon.
Do Islamic scriptures indicate that they've indeed been composed by said deity? Not at all.

Take another look at the roots of Islam.

Take another look at the roots of Islam.

I do not put much stock in silly evangelical sources that have exactly ZERO valid research behind them and rest solely on wishful thinking and "lying for Jesus".

I ask you: Why would a man who tried to convince people that he had received new revelations from the god of Abraham use any other name for that deity than the one that was used by existing religions devoted to the same?
The whole "moon god"-nonsense is absurd because even a third-rate crook knows better than that. Case in point: Joseph Smith again. Why imperil your credibility when you can simply attribute your book to the divine source you try to claim?

Think about it. You should be able to figure this out.

It merely appears that you haven't done as much research as you thought you had.

And I ask you again:

If I tried to sell you fake shoes, claiming that they're in fact Adidas sneakers - would I call them "Adonis" instead? Or would I make VERY sure that they've got the Adidas name and logo attached?

I think I get what Jane is saying and I agree with her. I think she is saying that Islam is selling their god as the same God that Abraham followed so that Islam can blind and bind those who would be foolish enough to believe that Allah and Yahweh are the same but by different names to different people. Basically she is saying that the Allah of Islam is pulling the highest form of "identity theft" ever by claiming to be the true God. In the name of calling Allah the same as Yahweh, the religion of Islam (led by Satan ultimately) is veering people from the true narrow path. It is much like how the Bible says that we should be careful as Satan himself masquerades as a minister of light. Everyone likes to put Satan in little red tights with a pitchfork, and that couldn't be further from the truth. Satan walks around looking like a someone who has "a form of godliness" yet not following or submitting to Yahweh.

I suppose Paul could have been talking about "Allah" in this verse :)

2 Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of the age, this, hath-blinded the minds of the faithless into the no to shine forth to them the enlightening of the Good-News of the glory of the Christ, who is an image of the God

He's speaking of Satan. Are you saying Satan and Allah are the same?

That is what some appear to be implying. That Allah is, in some sense, a false deceiving god working thru Satan, or vice versa, to deceive Jews and Christians.

and Muslims.

Yes.
I would hope more Muslims would convert to Christianity than to Judaism tho, as Muslims do believe Jesus was born of a virgin and came to Israel and the Jews.
In either case, may they and the Jews come to the true light and love that is of Jesus our Lord and Savior

Luke 2:32 A Light into a un-covering/veiling/apo-kaluyin <602> of Nations and glory of people of Thee Israel

John 1:3 All things thru Him became and apart-from Him became not-yet one-thing which has become.
4 In Him life was, and the life was the Light of the men.

Revelation 1:1 An un-covering/veiling/apo-kaluyiV <602> of Jesus Christ, which gives to him, the God, to show to His bond-servants, which-things is binding to be becoming in swiftness.

It would probably take an admin that can do database queries to actually do it.
They would need to run a query along the lines of
SELECT COUNT(*) FROM Users WHERE Religion = "xyz"
