The present building was erected in 1893 in a neo-Classical style owing much to the previous work in the earlier nineteenth century in the same style by the celebrated Prussian architect, Karl Friedrich Schinkel.

Yes, it is a stunning church and I highly recommend visiting it when you go to Tulsa. I previously posted some links to it on post 242 in this thread.

Here is an interesting video of East Liberty Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania by the noted twentieth-century Gothic Revival architect Ralph Cram.

Here is another, similar, video about another church building designed by Ralph Cram - Holy Rosary Church in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Note the interesting flying buttresses and geometric moldings of the stone masonry.

Thanks Mark! That church reminded me of St. Boniface Catholic Church in New Vienna, Iowa. The town is quite miniscule and the church is wonderful! It retains its original roof cresting and polychromatic slate tiles on its steeple.

Here is a fine video of Grace Episcopal Church in New York City which was constructed about the same time as Trinity Church, but with James Renwick as architect rather than Richard Upjohn. These two churches vied for the social cream of New York City society with Grace eventually winning when people moved out of the Wall Street area and uptown to Greenwich Village.

St. Patrick's Kinkora by J. Connolly, 10 miles from my house...

The top of the spire has now been removed, but the Congregation hopes to restore it to it's original 214 feet.

The parish where I grew up; 1st. St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ellice Twp. (Seebach's Hill) 6 miles from where I now live. Since it's construction in 1937 (my Grandfather was chairman of the building committee BTW) the two towers needed frequent extensive repairs due to water damage and freezing and thawing (about every 15 years). The Gothic Revival battlements on the tops were removed last year, and replaced with rather "Norman" looking roofs...

I am sorry that the Gothic battlements were removed, but can understand the problems incurred with the flat roofs behind the battlements. Perhaps the current roofs could be replaced with steeples. I am particularly fond of German helm steeples like this -

The Chestnut Street Meetinghouse in Millville, Massachusetts is an extremely well-preserved example of its type.
