  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What arguments are you tired of hearing?

Conspiracy theories. I am SO tired of hearing how aliens and stars and 2012 will rend the world in two, and how certain political figures are the anti-christ.

I second that one.

Which ones to mention ... ? So many ...

Ok .
"Church fathers"
observe the Sabbaths/Law - any combination
anything topic that is termed in Latin

That is a good beginning

edited to add
the "why all of the threads that pick on catholics" threads
The "simple" question threads - knowing that the questions are not simple and not allowing for questions on the "simple" question

Tired of hearing different churches say they are the One True Church. Somebody's lyin, baby!

Also tired of hearing negative comments about infant baptism, tired of OSAS advocates thinking they can act like turds just because they are under Jesus' cloak, SUPER TIRED of hearing from "clergy" who deny the divinity of Christ and other essentials of the Nicene Creed, tired of politicians acting like they are religious (both parties) when the only time they ever darken a church is during a photo-op, tired of hearing about Yankees vs. Red Sox, etc., etc.

You come right out and said what I could not think HOW to word, I am only glad YOU said it (not me)^_^

I must admit, I would have tried everything I could NOT to say it like that but I still acknowledge you have such a good point. I would stretch it beyond OSAS, because there are those who (even) speak of grace (the same grace I would) however they act so extremely hateful in their communications that they themselves lack any evidence (in them) that they have not received (the same) in vain (or so it does seem).

"speaking the truth in love" is the last thing present in them

But Christ is preached out of good will and out of strife, and I know I should just be glad He is preached (as was Paul)

God bless you

Not all of these are arguments that I see here...some are from other boards:

Rock music is of the devil
Harry Potter is teh ebil
Catholics all worship Mary
Christianity isn't a religion, it's a relationship
Homeschooling makes you weird and unsocialized.
Sabbath arguments

I am very sick of people doubting certain " parts " of the bible as being accurate , while believing other parts. If God is indeed GOD , I'm pretty sure he foresaw who was going to be writing the bible , and also, isn't it clear he could have had a hand in how accurate it was going to be . It is not like he wasn't paying attention lol .

I'm tired of everyone in the Body of Christ arguing...

 I'm with you on that.

Sorta more in love with the oneupsmanship. Well you get the sense that it has to be the desired intent, given how folks speak to each other. Like someone can (indeed be correct) in their doctrine but their way (in their nasty demeaner) doesnt really do service to Christ. Cutting off ears to the message because the spirit of their delivery comes in a manner that appears contrary to the very message.

Hope I worded that right, maybe not, but I tried

I am tired of hearing about circumcisions, sabbaths and pork eating....tho I do find they can be entertaining sometimes [which I feel should be on the Covenant Theology board ehehe]:)

I'm tired of hearing that St. Paul was a heretic.
:)
An interesting post was made here concerning Paul and him starting a new religion and perhaps one reason the both the religions of Judaism and Islam don't trust him much  :sorry:

No arguing them here. Just which ones are you tired of??? (Some of them may be harder to express.)

Myself...

I'm tired of being compared to idol worshippers... Jehovah Witnesses and Mormons.

I'm tired of being told the Christ didn't die on Friday afternoon and was risen on Sunday.

What's yours?

Forgive me...

On another site I frequent I grow tired of hearing atheists tell me that Christ is a rip off of Mithras, Horus or some other pagan deity.

I am tired of hearing that the bible must be perfect or the Christian faith is a sham.

I am tired of hearing that we are under grace BUT the law is still binding.

I am tired of the arguments that sex is the result of the fall and is sinful.

I am extremely tired of those who believe science and God are enemies or that all of science is participating in a huge conspiracy to cover up the truth.

I am tired of those who believe they can't possibly be wrong in what they believe.

I am tired of Christians willing to be mean and judgmental of others and act in the most unloving way under the guise of defending the gospel.

I am tired of religion.
