Fireinfolding said:Bro, its been no secret (here) given I have said so before (having been here for many years) that I really dont watch much TV (at all). Maybe 10% of the time (if that). And for the most part because my husband (who is also an unbeliever) has it on. Given my physical predicament and where I am parked with my computer I certainly cannot change that (for myself) let alone for you (or anyone else)
The hubby WATCHES TV ((((ALL OF THE TIME)))
I cannot avoid it bro. I used to try but I am unable to.
TWO movies doesnt consititute ALL of my time brother![]()
Its often just like backround noise that begins at 6pm when my husband comes home till he goes off to bed. He says (to me) you have it your way all day, when I come home I have it my way, I agree![]()
Just like right now he is heading into the bedroom to play his playstation, so he gets up, turns of the TV for me and tells me "you can put your music on". Because I always have worship music on, I love it! and he allows me that (which I love him for) because he could say, "turn that stuff off" (given he is an unbeliever) but he dont, God has shown favor to me through him on this![]()
The TV round' here dont come on till 6 PM. Its not on all day, Im too into studying then watching fictional shows. However, Its not really an issue with me brother. I do prefer none at all, but I am not going to play ~as if~ I have not watched a movie that will have everyones stamp of aproval. The meat I eat dont why shlould I expect this to be any different? It hasnt hurt me none. Contrarily it seems to be hurting you more, if so dont watch any of it, its not worth the distress you are going through.
But if it distresses you (even concerning myself) will it help you any to handle this better if I said I had no intention of watching it again?
And... if I did (by accident) I would know not to tell you of it (promise)
Well, because of "re-runs" (you know...)
A few things. First of all, my comments were meant for several people. Secondly, since I've read many of your posts and also conversed with you privately on several occasions, I'm really not concerned about you in this specific regard. Thirdly, as much as I genuinely appreciate you taking the time to share some personal information (it wasn't necessary) about your own household, any "distress", to use your word, that I feel is in relation not only to the ones who "amuse" themselves with such things, but also in direct relation to the harvest that is perishing in the field. I don't know about anybody else (I think that I'm "normal"...maybe some of you don't), but Jesus is constantly purging me so that I might bear more fruit for His kingdom. He's primarily concerned about SOULS. How <edit> then can we be sitting around and wasting our time with such nonsense? That's the heart of my issue here...aside from the danger that it's done to many children...and apparently some adults who can't even discern between what's "good" and what's "evil". The justification that I've heard thus far is "It's just fantasy!" Well, that makes it even worse, as far as I'm concerned. Wasting time that could be better spent in regards to the One Whom we call "Lord" with "fantasy". I can't help but wonder how that will all play out in the end. Quite frankly, I don't "wonder" at all. It certainly won't be commended. Anyhow, I'm preaching to myself as much as I am to anybody else. Although I'm not "amused" with such nonsense as has been described here, I've got my own issues in regard to "redeeming the time wisely".
Good night.
