And this is the will of my Father, that you believe in the one that He sent. Nothing about obeying laws.

Neither do I. And Jn 14:15 doesn't prove their point.allow scripture to tell you what love is. I don't see in scripture where love is obedience to the law.
If ye keep My commandments, ye shall abide in My love; even as I have kept My Father's commandments, and abide in His love.15If ye love me, keep my commandments.
16And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
19Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.
20At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
21He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
Keeping the commandments and having the Spirit seems pretty close.
I can evenGod's will is expressed in His law from Gen. to Rev.
where did Jesus state depart from me for you did not follow the law?
No I don't think it means those not subscribing to the OC law known as the law. Iniquity is sin. The Christian is under the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus - Rom 8:2. This isn't the law as indicated in the covenant with the COI. SorryBut he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. - Luke 13:27
Iniquity in this passage means: lawlessness.
allow scripture to tell you what love is. I don't see in scripture where love is obedience to the law.
One is condemned by the law. You identify yourself and there is no need to label you as you wave that label from the roof top and yell about it. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:9Not of works, lest any man should boast. 10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
You clearly boast.
Where is this?
And what about the new Christian, don't they need instruction?Why does Paul teach us over and over not to fornicate, commit adultery, steal, lie and covet? Paul sure seems to think its important to teach and learn these things. Paul says to preach the word because the day will come when men wont endure sound doctrine. He commands Timothy to preach all doctrine.
2Ti 4:1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2Ti 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
2Ti 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. - Romans 13:10
I think that you misunderstood what I was saying. I believe that if a person is really born again that they will obey God's commands because God's law is written in their heart by the Spirit.
"For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;
(For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another" - Romans 2:12-15
Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law. - Romans 3:31
Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. - Romans 13:10
For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. - Galatians 5:14
The law is about loving God and loving your neighbor. If you believe in God and his love is in you, you won't break his commands, even if you don't know the law because you have been born again of the Spirit.
If you love God, you won't have other gods - if you love your neighbor, you won't go after his wife, steal, murder or covet what he has. The commandments are about loving God and loving man. That's why if you are truely regenerated by the Spirit, you will establish the law because the love of God is living in you. You can't say that you love God if you covet, hate, lie to, murder, steal from your neighbor. It's not a combination of those things - all it takes is 1 and you have become quilty of sin.
For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. - James 2:10
Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. - 1 John 3:4
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. - 1 John 3:9
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. - 1 John 4:7
By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. - 1 John 5:2-3
You don't keep his commands to be saved. You love (do his commands) BECAUSE you are saved.
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. - Matthew 7:21
If you are iterating obedience to the law of love, how is it different from what im doing? Will it void your faith? We're doing the same thing, only i include the whole teaching about Gods will, you leave things out.
The above comment was in reference to all the posts by people who keep talking about "all you need is love." I was expounding on what the Bible says is love and you can't have love with the exclusion of the law.
If you have more on that aspect of the law, please share it.
