CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
Only by leaving islam is there hope.

Why do you think people enter threads to say that they're not interested in discussing the thread?
Why do you think people are afraid to discuss Islam on it's own merits?
One of my proofs of Chrisitanity is the lengths people go to turn these threads into attacks on Christianity. Something must be driving them to do so.

Hardly a discussion. This was a "your religions sucks. You should leave it" thread. The big crossed out mosque as the avatar is a good indication that there is no real interest in discussion, let alone picking that particular handle. It's trollish behavior more than anything.
Discussion is good. Hostile and hypocritical attacks from people who are protected from the same criticism not so much welcome. If people want to bring up controversial aspects of religion, it must be done with tact if they expect any discussion, and even then, they must be willing to show an interest in actually learning.

Not much, you asked for the information. The OP was essentially telling Muslims to convert or never have a normal life again - sounds a lot like blackmail to me. It also wasn't a thread with any worthwhile discussion point, so I made a half-joke about inquisitions. Then the thread went off on a topic that can actually be talked about, and you dragged it back.
When Christians start attacking other people, they should be prepared for backlash. Hypocrisy is generally not admired.

Not at all, and you know that's not what I said. The OP is basically just a declaration that Islam is hopeless. The implication of such a statement is that the position of the OP is better than Islam (and, while the request to convert isn't explicitly there, it's obviously coming). In a thread where there is a valid discussion point, I'd agree with you, but in a poor attempt at conversion (or an attack, not sure which), the OP comes under scrutiny. The OP is Christian. This is a thread about religion. The rest logically follows on from there.
Like I said before, though, my original post was not particularly serious, so you don't have to worry.

I have absolutely no idea what you're saying here. Islam is not a topic that leads on to discussion I find interesting on this forum, and I'm certainly not educated enough to hold up a side of a debate. I just wanted to mention the Inquisition. No, just in case there are people who want to discuss the merits of Islam in this thread, I suggest we drop this so you can start such a discussion.

There are plenty of Muslim who have picked a sucky interpretation.
But this subforum is not the place to start topics about how other religions suck.
