Lol. I had a deja vu here about ten minutes ago. Now the topic for me is deja vu.Or was that just Deja Vu???
Short term memory goes into long term memory earlier than expected, then the brain retrieves it, assuming it was from long... Split second activity. It could be just a temporary brain malfunction in which neuronal circuits which identify something as a "memory" mistakenly fire when one isn't actually thinking of a memory.
I had a dream a few months back a really vivid one set in a little country town. Not long after we went on a drive on a holiday and as I went through this new town, I had never been to before it was as though it was somewhere I had been before as it was exactly the same as my dream. The only difference was in the main street where there was a house with a yard that my dream mostly took place in was now a parking lot as it had been removed and was only fenced off dirt.Lol. But I SWEAR there are times I have seen something before, and have even documented it at times.
The one that really irritates me, is when I have dreamed something that appeared real, then I couldn't tell whether it was real or not. Very embarrassing.
Remembering a location, like you say... if you watch the TV shows on angels, people often describe events and locations shown to people in preparation for potential disaster.
When it's more vague like you describe, that seems like it could get into all sorts of possibilities with physics and information, supernatural and more.
FW, thanks for digging up threads.
I am not sure but spiritual would be my preferred answer, there is more to my existence than chemicals. Its all spiritual - a part of being in the realm.. You are growing and its minor compared to the gift that is giving to you but, you must seek the Lord daily for that or those gifts given.

Ooh. It makes me think of people who buried dead bodies behind walls. Sorry... I mean, of towns with empty storefronts. The only difference was in the main street where there was a house with a yard that my dream mostly took place in was now a parking lot as it had been removed and was only fenced off dirt.
I have found this too thought not as traumatica as that. there definatly is a world around us more than physical that unfortunately we only get a glimpse into occasionally. My biggest deja vu was three months before my husband died. I started having these dreams, in this dream the police came telling me of his death, and then there was the conversation I had with his mother to break the news to her, and the reception with people mingling around me and I see them and here their conversations, the funeral home and conversation there and who was with me.. on and on it went for days.. all in order, and then it happened..
I was in shock.. and remained that way for days,.. and all the dreams became deja vu moments as I watch it all unfold before me eyes just like it was in the dreams or should I say nightmares. The Lord's footprints in the sand made a lot of sense to me as I went through this horrific moment in my life.. the Lord had prepared me, carried me through, and comforted me with deja vu..
From what I have read - it is a brain thing - your thoughts actually skip your conscious - and go straight to your sub-conscious. So, your brain is tricking you thinking it is a memory - when actually you are experiencing now.
