It would have been funny if he would have read Isaiah 40:21-22 just after making "his" discovery.

In addition, I'm sure if anyone in the early years of Genesis thought the world was flat, Noah would have corrected them.

Shem, Noah's son, lived right up to the time of Jacob, and would have provided eyewitness testimony of a round earth.

If anyone sees a flat earth in the Scriptures, they're reading It wrong.

Absolutely -- it's a reference to their [relative] size, as seen from the eyes of God, Himself.

And if people started believing history over mythology, they'd know that Columbus (and pretty much the rest of the civilized world) kinew the Earth was round ever since the anceint Greek mathematician Eratosthenes not only proved it, but accurately measured it.

The advantage Bible believers have is that their interpretation of God's Word is often inspired by God's divine Spirit, and not by mere fallible human intellect.

I'd buy this if there was consistence, verifiability and demonstrability. The fact is that there is at least a different interpretation of the Bible for every person who's read it. If only some of these are truly inspired, then I'd love to know how you'd go about checking who is truly inspired and who isn't.

Consistence does seem to be their problem. I've always wondered why believers, who have a direct line to god, and god is omnipotent, why can't they just ask him to give me the same insight they get from god?

Instead you always get some woo-woo answer about seeking, praying,....blah blah blah.

You forgot to mention that the BoM has the same advantage of being divinely inspired. Plus it has lots of eye witnesses to the original text!
