  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Sure why not?
Because children are impressionable and Islam is a false religion that will lead them to hell.

I don't understand this attitude taken to such an extent that one is unwilling to protect the immortal souls of their own children.

Must be the natural outworking of a predestination doctrine. Send your own children to the wolves and if Jesus loves them he will save them.

I teach them at home if I do a good job at that then I can send them out into the world with confidence.

Then they are not following Christ who allows choice for all.
Have you not thought that maybe those Russian people are protecting God's Truth? And defending Him and His Church is exactly following Christ.

Not really , since you can't force anyone to believe in Christ. Christ gives us the chance to love him or to turn our backs on him.

As such goverments (Russia,Saudi Arabia, China) must give thier citizens the right to choose thier religion.

It's not a matter of forcing anyone to believe in Christ, but having the right to preserve and defend one's own beliefs in one's own country.

But why are you forcing your faith onto your children? Why don't you let them choose to follow God for themselves.

I plan on showing them all of the options and then explain why I personally put my faith in Christ.

But you shouldn't explain that, why you are personally putting your faith in Christ, they should be able to freely choose, no explanation needed. If you are planning on showing them all the options are you going to, democratically, invite over Imams, JW's, Buddhists priest and Rabbi's to explain their religions or take them to Mosques, Jewish and Buddhist temples and Mormon Tabernacles?

In you point you are stressing the freedom of religion then you are agreeing that there is no other option then Christ.

Exactlly! I agree with freedom of religion but believe that once shown a relationship with Christ nothing else will come close.
