• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Excuse me?

Challenges, QVs, repeating myself constantly, and begging you guys to answer my questions mean nothing, don't they?If you knew the reason I don't understand, you wouldn't even bother to try to explain it to me.

No, amazingly enough, even after repeated exposure to you people still try to explain things to you.

I sure do.I sure don't.

Unlike you, I can understand it both ways, because I accept what's called Dispensation Theology.

You [evidently] don't, and thus cannot understand.

Biblical meteorology trumps natural meteorology when God the Father is calling the shots; but when God the Holy Spirit is the One calling the shots, things run a tad differently.

You realize that the heresy of Subordinationism was anathematized in the 2nd Council of Constantinople, or the 5th Ecumenical Council, right?

IF anyone shall not acknowledge that God the Word, of the same substance with the Father and the Holy Ghost, and who was made flesh and became man, one of the Trinity, is Christ in every sense of the word, but [shall affirm] that he is so only in an inaccurate manner, and because of the abasement, as they call it, of the intelligence; if anyone shall affirm that this intelligence united to God the Word, is the Christ in the true sense of the word, while the Logos is only called Christ because of this union with the intelligence, and e converse that the intelligence is only called God because of the Logos: let him be anathema.

Sorry. But the Holy Spirit and the Son aren't somehow less authoritative or capable of miracles then God the Father.

Your challenges, QVs, and repititions are devoid of any explanatory power. And asking us to answer your questions is not how one explains things. It can lead to you giving an explanation, but is not an explanation on its own.

I understand it perfectly.

No matter how absurd, no matter how ridiculous, you try and justify everything you believe by saying "But it says it in the Bible!", and ignore all available evidence.

That really is the extent of it. Your QVs, your repetition, your questions, your challenges, everything, it all comes down to "It says it in the Bible!", without anything else even remotely logical to stand on.

Amirite?

You are.

Yesurite.

But let me also point out that, even though I make it plain "the Bible says it, that settles it" --- you guys still don't understand.

I used to think you guys couldn't understand anything past Genesis 1.

I was wrong --- you guys don't even understand Genesis 1.

Firstly, it didn't explode, it expanded.

Equally, no one can say the invisible pink unicorn doesn't exist.
Equally, no one can say the flying spaghetti monster doesn't exist.
Equally, no one can say Odin doesn't exist.
Equally, no one can say Brahman doesn't exist.
Equally, no one can say Zeus doesn't exist.
Equally no one can say Ra doesn't exist.

Equally, no one can say God does or does not exist.

Exactly, so because the evidence has not been accumulated, there could still be a chance that there is a God! So no atheists!;)

That's not down to a lack of ability to understand things.

That can be down to two things:

1) It makes absolutely no sense, whatsoever.

And/or.

2) Your interpretation of it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

Reading through it just now, I've come to the conclusion that it's both.

Don't understand what?

The Bible's mythology does not accurately reflect reality.

In increasingly desperate attempts to conceal this open secret, fundies attempt great leaps of semantic wrangling, rhetorical hocus-pocus, and theistic hysterics in attempts to redefine reality to their liking.

Alas, reality is not so easily tamed.

Really, the only thing that's not understood is: why do you continue to bother? And in truth, most of us already know the answer to that -- you're the one who doesn't undersatand why you do what you do.

Wow, you are sure good at non sequiturs. How do you go from chance of God to no Atheists? That makes no sense.

Because you aren't God, you don't get to authoritatively decree these sorts of things. If you think you can simply establish the scientific authority of the Bible by fiat, your deluded.

I used to think you guys couldn't understand anything past Genesis 1.

I was wrong --- you guys don't even understand Genesis 1.

We understand it; we disagree that its scientific. But nice ad hominem though.

And that is PART of the reason they ignore Jesus Christ, though He is proven to have actually been a person and folks saw him many days AFTER he was crucified and so the same type of person put gold in the empty tomb in order to hide the truth.

Same thing going on here. God is all around them, but they prefer to hide their heads in the dirt looking for bones.

I see. So, creationism --> God?

I can --- I use Boolean Logic.

Great! Here's your chance to prove me wrong and explain something. Outline the Boolean logic that you use to arrive at your conclusions. I'll even temporarily concede that your KJV and your interpretation is absolutely correct. Embedded age, water on neptune, angels living in stars, the Ark being built in Jersey; all of it. Now, please explain the logic behind those things and how it rules out the other things mentioned.

Actually, the problem is that you don't stick with, "the Bible says it, that settles it." That is when you run into problems.
