Hi everyone. Just thought I'd create another poll and thread for discussion. Gotta keep this forum alive you know!

So, here goes. Are you for the ordination of homosexuals? Please answer the poll by selecting the option that most closely resembles your views.

By the way, this thread is about openly homosexual persons. That does not mean that they are in a homosexual relationship although they could be in a homosexual relationship but it does not have to mean that they are. It simply means that they are open about their sexuality to their congregants and other people. I know it's not a very good poll but it was the best I could come up with.

Ok here is my thought. If you mean homosexuals has sexual active same sex then i am not for it or for any person who commaits a sin over and over agian and agian with out repivte such has lieing or adulrty or sex out of wed lock so my stand of this does not go only for homosexuals but str as well. Now If you have same sex attation and are nto haveing sex then i am for it. I do not see it is a sin to love someone wither if they are the same sex or not. Now if it is the same sex then i beviel it needs to be a non sexual love there are many exple in the bible of this. God loves love so if you are deeply in love with someone of the same sex and are not haveing a sexual rel with them then i do not see anyhting wrong with ordination. anywho just my thoughts.

Well, just for those who didn't already know...

I'm in the process of becoming ordained UCC and I'm a F2M2F trans-lesbian in a legal same-sex marriage (courtesy of Massachusetts)...
...and we even have our own child to love and raise.

Please pardon my ignorance, but that is female to male to female (again?)? I have never heard the term trans-lesbian....please enlighten me!! This is what I get for growing up very sheltered!

So by extension you are opposed to sinners being ordained...and you believe man ordains and not God?

If sinners aren't allowed to be ordained....who will we have? Last I checked, none of us were sin free...some of us are just better at hiding it.

Oh..and that's just if you believe that homosexuality is a sin...which is obviously open for debate in the christian community.

Don't know how its open to debate seeming as scriptures so plainly say that it IS a sin. Now here is where I am going to make my statement. Homosexuals can be preachers THEY CAN, but here is my kicker...if you are a PRACTICING homosexual (meaning that despite scriptures and believing in Christ..you are purpsfully continuing in the sin of homosexuality *practicing it* rather than trying to fight it.) However you can be a homosexual who does not practice it (being its a sin) thats my view..and I believe its scriptural.

Well, just that I consider myself to be trans in addition to being a lesbian. I use "trans" as an umbrella term for any/all gender non-conforming/gender distorting... not just in regards to people who have had surgeries. Its okay, I grew up very sheltered myself.
