I got news for Av. It's fiction, not history, regardless of how much he believes otherwise.
You weren't there --- and if you think it's fiction, you might want to try and convince bookstores.

I don't see the Bible in the fiction section.

Embedded age along with creationism is not just a dead end it is the most dead end thing since the first dead end became know as a dead end,
they are in fact the mother and father of all dead ends, but that's just my opinion.
Apparently these guys didn't get the memo: World's Greatest Creation Scientists.

I don't see the Bible in the fiction section.

Neither were you --- and if you think it was fact, you might want to try and convince bookstores.

I don't see the Bible in a different section to the Torah, the Q'uran, or any other religious book.

The only reason you won't find it next to The Fellowship of the Ring, is because some illogical people, for reasons I couldn't possibly fathom (Because I respect my sanity) believe it to be factual.

"World's Greatest Creation Scientist" is a title about as valuable as "World's Greatest Chocolate Teapot Maker".
Yup --- then you guys wonder why you don't understand anything.

Cool list. What does this show or prove?

So, they call scientists who used ACTUAL science, including observations, testing, analyzing, verifying, etc to come to their conclusion, creationists. And? We can call all those dead scientists or weird scientists and their position as true scientists wouldn't change one bit. They argued from evidence and proved their hypotheses and ideas through empirical evidence, which is contrary to your "god did it" mantra, AV.

What a Bogus list. None of these were "Creation Scientists" in the modern sense of the term. More sophistry and Word Games, right? How many of these scientists rejected science because of their interpretation of scripture?

(We need our post counts inflated.)

Sure, cut my original post down to just the first sentence to make it seem that my post had no substance. I thought a little better of you than that... Not to mention you ignored my question.

Ah, so Barnes & Noble is your final authority in these matters, AV?

Like someone else said already. You don't see the Bible in history books. You see it in religious sections along with other books that AV would surely consider false such as Buddhist or Muslim books.

No we don't. We know perfectly well how little we understand and we're not afraid to say how little we understand, nor are we afraid to try and understand the things we don't understand. Trying to understand is pointless if you believe you already understand.

In comparison to how little you understand, however, we might as well all be gods, ourselves. We don't need a god of the gaps to fill in the blanks, to paint a human face on the unknown, to make it more comfortable and "loving". We accept the unknown for what it is.

It's what we potentially can know.

You, however, claim to know already, using a god of the gaps. Why is this? Insecurity? Fear? The incapability of free thought?

What you claim to know can't be backed up by anything other than blind faith and an ancient, bronze age story book. You believe you know how the universe began, how life began, but you don't. You only believe.

It's before "Rapture" and "Trinity".

You mean like after the Second Age and before the Fourth Age? (All hail Aragorn, King of the free men of Gondor!) when Frodo of the four fingers journeyed far into the lands of Mordor, with his faithful sidekick and friend, Samwise Gamgee, into the depths of Mount Doom, to destroy the one ring, and restore peace to Middle Earth?

I've always found it interesting that someone who prides himself on being an "independent" Baptist seeks approval from whatever source he can find, no matter how irrelevant.
