  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Is not honoring the sabbath a sin?

I agree, and am working on finding a nice adventist church so I can worship properly on the sabbath instead of as I have of lately wallowing in my own laziness.
Go once or twice. If you can, find a Messianic congregation in your area as well and hang out with them once in a while. I'm fortunate. I have a Messianic that worships with us on Shabbat and I have learned so much from him about the Hebraic and Judaism that I am really glad I know him and call him brother.

Yes the prophecies did have to be fulfilled, but don't you think that Christ had considered that before He said He would be dead and raised in three days?
We could always make a thread on "Jonah"

Matt 12:41 "Men Ninevites shall be resurrecting/standing-up/ana-sthsontai <450> (5698) in the judging with the generation/geneaV <1074>, this and they shall be condemning her, that they repent/reform into the proclamation of Jonah and behold! more of Jonah here. [Jonah 3]

1 thess 4:16 That the Lord himself in a shout-of-command, in voice of a chief-messenger, and in trump of God, shall be descending from heaven, and the dead-ones in Christ shall be resurrecting/ana-sthsontai <450> (5698) first,

Depending on what city you're in I might be able to make a couple of suggestions for you.

I know of three in Buffalo in "walking distance" and hoping for a new church to spring up even closer and preferably one that is predominately english speaking since the closest adventist church is spanish speaking.
Buffalo? OK, that's it. Friendship over!

Just having some fun! I've actually been to Buffalo, long time ago.....before you were born!
My wife and I flew thru there from NYC back in the '80s on our way up to Niagra Falls for our anniversary.

The US side kinda "sucked" but the Canadian side was like paradise! Simply gorgeous

Agree...the Canuker side is much nicer. I met Jim Kelly in Macy's in N.Y. city. Doesn't that count for something? ;)

We sat in a restaurant on the Canadian side of the Falls and our table was right by a window where the top of the Falls was. It was truly a sight to behold! We then drove up to 1000 Lakes.....

Oh stop it! I don't buy it! As much knowledge I have seen you share here on these forums in such a short time you never once considered the fact Jesus died on a Friday and rested in the tomb on the sabbath day? .

......................Friday???

Either the Old Testament covenant with all its laws as a single law code if you will, applies to Christians in its entirety or none of it does. The Book of Hebrews really gets into it, but here's a couple of writings in the scriptures from James and Paul inspired by the Holy Spirit of Jesus.

James 2:10-12
10For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
11For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law. 12So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

Galatians 3:10"For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them."
