Oh very nice. Especially drooling over the Neo Geo and the turbo duo. And also good call on the FZ10 3DO.
Did you see what's UNDER the Neo Geo? It's a front-loading Neo Geo CD system. There were only 25,000 made before they changed to the flip-top model.
To be honest, I'd rather have an FZ-1 3DO. It's more nostalgic for me since it was the first model I'd played. Still, the FZ-10 is more reliable so it's a good 3DO to own.
I aspire to eventually have the same systems, plus some. I always enjoyed every system in its own right, and after owning what we did in Indianapolis, yeah, I miss it.
Oh, I've also got my American systems: NES, SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, Playstation, Playstation 2, GBA, two DSlites. Also a Korean Halo Edition X-Box, Japanese Neo Geo Pocket and white Saturn (like I mentioned). Hopefully I'll get the Atari systems if I move back to North America (at least the 2600 and a Jaguar... hopefully a Lynx).
If you want any Japanese systems, I can probably hook you up if you want. Send a PM if you're serious.
as for Garou on 360...it's nothing to write home about. I'd played it before, and love the game, so I was going to definitely buy it. I was hoping to get some online play on the 360 done, but...online is horrible. Their netcode is horrendous. I'm sure it's not as bad in Japan with the internet speeds there plus without the distance issues the US causes, but clearly SNK thought nothing of foreign markets, because I had 1 second delay on my inputs in nearly every match I played. So frustrated.
That sucks. Then again, I almost never play online so it's not an issue for me. If you REALLY want the best online play, move to South Korea.
So, it's good for offline play, and for online if I ever lived in Japan with my 360. And you're right, it's certainly cheaper than the Neo Geo cart. But I could've probably gotten the PS2 or the Dreamcast ports and been just as happy with them, if not more, since neither would promise online play.
Mark of the Wolves is on the DC???
4 more days till BlazBlue releases, and I'll be playing it to death. Limited Edition pack that I pre-ordered came with an art book, a 48 track soundtrack, and a DVD featuring tutorials and character specific strategies. Apparently Arc put in a lot of time with the netcode too to make it playable anywhere, so here's hoping. If that's the case, I see myself enjoying this one for a long time!
I know next to nothing about the Guilty Gear series, other than X on the DC is pretty darm fun. In fact, it's one of the best 2D fighting games that I've ever played. Still, I don't know if I'll get into the others as I really don't have time to fully get into them. I'm more of a pick up and play for a few rounds kind of guy.
