  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It's really not worth it. Everytime I even talk to a guy whether online or in real life, they get all freaked out and run the other way like they are being chased by a rabid pack of wolves. I am not a flirtatious person so I really don't know what the problem is. Most people I talk to are a zillion miles away anyhow. What's the harm? You tell me.....

Not anymore. If I don't see my crushes, the whole crush thing just goes away. I'd much rather just wait for the right type of guy to come around, so we can hang out, develop a rapport with each other and then start crushing on each other when we start dating.

Nuts to this temporary fix stuff.

Hoosy, you do admittedly have some major self-image problems. Guys can pick up on that. Maybe they get the sense that you don't like yourself much? Sometimes it's not what a person does or doesn't say, but the vibe they give off, that turns others off.

Fact of the matter is, a guy wants a woman who is comfortable in her own skin just like a woman wants a guy who is the same. God loves you, why bother worrying about the rest?

Go figure. I'm not dissuaded if a woman is somewhat uncomfortable in her own skin. That just means she's human. I actually feel more comfortable around people who feel awkward at times, because they're real. Not that I wouldn't try to help her feel better, but it seems like a strange measure to determine whether somebody is lovable.

I agree that giving off the wrong vibes is unattractive, but why worry about that sort of thing? Faking it works in the short term, but it doesn't address the underlying issues. In fact, it usually makes things worse. Just get busy being who you are, even when who you are seems "uncomfortable in the skin" to others. Sometimes, life is more about the journey than the destination. Relish the blessings in your life, even if they seem few and far between. Pray. Relax. Your relationship to the infinite/God is more important than what somebody may or may not think of you.

This isn't addressed to anybody in particular. I just felt like sharing.
