I'm between jobs right now and (we still have snow) I've applied for a couple of jobs in Alabama (also NC, SC, GA, etc.). Maybe some day I'll be attending your church! If it gets above freezing today I might reconsider.

The college I went to didn't have a football team, so I've never followed college ball. But I would support anyone as soon as I find the means to support myself.

Pro football is pretty simple out here. Most people in Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico and Nebraska are Broncos fans. Do you guys have trouble choosing between the Falcons, Titans and Saints?

I can't speak for most of the state because I rarely get outside of the coastal area unless it's football season or deer season, but what I've found is that Birmingham people tend to be obsessed with Atlanta and so most opt for the Falcons (and that opting for the Falcons is true for much of the central part of the state), people on the coast tend to go with the Saints because of how close New Orleans is and because culturally, they in many respects are just a part of Louisiana that isn't an official part of the state (same goes for the Mississippi coast) and I suspect if there are any Titans fans in Alabama, they will be of a recent nature because they were the Oilers until the 90's and I suspect most of them are going to be either in Huntsville, Shoals or other areas in the extreme northern part of the state.

I applied for a job as a sound tech (Audio Assistant) at the Church of the Highlands. Their Website indicates they have two campuses in Birmingham, one in Tuscaloosa and one in Auburn. The job probably doesn't pay much, but it sounds like a fun job in a fun place and I'm pretty excited. Is anyone out there familiar with Church of the Highlands?

Also, my research thus far indicates that the cost of housing in Birmingham is very reasonable. Is this correct?

From aerial photos, it looks like a beautiful place, and the climate's got to be an improvement over Wyoming. God willing, maybe my next post will be from Alabama!
