Surprising that it took so long for this one to come up. It hits the same way Pshyco does. One fears that there is far too much truth in it.

I'm going to rais my hand for 'Dr. Strangelove'.

Not at all scarry when you watch it. But when you step back and realize the parody is NOT that pronounced and we were just one accident from nutcases deciding to push the button or not....

Scariest movie I've ever seen is a flick from the 80's called The Day After, its about nuclear war and the aftermath, I was disturbed for days.

The other one that made me jump a little was the 2005 Amityville Horror remake.

Other than that scary movies don't scare me too much.

Compared to Deep Blue Sea,Jaws is no more scary than 'Finding Nemo',and can everyone spell 'boring',LOL!
Another good one is Soylent Green, no jumps but really scary premise. For good jumps, see the implausible but quite effective' Darkness Falls'.

this has probably been mentioned....

"The Exorcist"

The Exorcism of Emily Rose left me freaked out for days ...

It's a draw between those two.
That 1973 horro..woah, seeing that girl's head do a 360..& the infamous back bending spider walk:

Exorcist&

As for the latter, is it really based on real events?
Cos that's just downright scary.
I couldn't sleep properly for days.
