I've posted recently about unity within the church but how can we achieve that unity when part of the church is completely brainwashed with false doctrine?

quote=WarriorAngel; I did - I found it.
Are you telling me that i have it wrong because you disagree with the Church?
Apparently not.DO you think i didnt study the early Church in order to be certain it is the same?
I beg to differ.I have - and painstakingly so.
We get that plenty. You need to practice what you preach & study it from a Protestant perspective. What you could do - if you choose - would be to read the ecf writings from the perspective of the Church and not someone seeking to find some way of discrediting her.
It never did for me.It will make more sense reading it from the perspective of the Church.
You've tried that before & failed miserably, except in you & your Church's opinion. You know i can and will find umpteen hundred or so quotes and writings of the ecf's to back me up.
Be realistic.Just waiting for your agreement.
Peter didn't allow cornelius to do it in Acts either, funny he was according to rome the 1st pope and for him it was unnacceptable...HMMM change in Rome? NOT possible...But wait scripture says this about ole pope peterThat depends on the context. What's his name displays all the symptoms.
Why did the angel tell John not to bow before him?
God says not to use the images. Best not to ask any of us why you have them & expect to like the answer.
your display pic alone is proof of your idolatry of a man

Right? You know i can...
Anyone can cut-and-paste RC quotemines. Not everyone can actually read the ecfs in their proper context, though.

Matthew 16:19 was spoken by our Lord to St. Peter alone, and is the primary foundation for the concept of the papacy (along with the preceding verse). -snip-
Matthew 16:19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.

..and then around the time of Luther Bibles were transplanted from Christ's Church into the hands of raving Sola Scriptura lunatics.

And so i can say without an inkling of doubt - that the Church is who she has always been and that is the Church to whom Jesus established the keys upon Peter.
No other church has that.
None.

Mt. 16:19 is future tense.
Revelation still shows Christ Jesus with the keys.
Some foundation for the concept of the papacy.
Good for you. Now you'll be able to see that the papacy is built on a foundation of sand.
The Pope, King of the world?
