From the Source:Lucius Ferraris "Papa," art. 2, in his Prompta Bibliotheca Canonica, Juridica, Moralis, Theologica, Ascetica, Polemica, Rubristica, Historica. ("Handy Library"), Vol. 5, published in Petit-Montrouge (Paris) by J. P. Migne, 1858 edition, column 1823, Latin.

#1. "The Pope is of so great dignity and so exalted that he is not mere man, but as it were God, and the vicar of God."

#13. "Hence the Pope is crowned with a triple crown, as king of heaven and of earth and of the lower regions."

#18. "As to papal authority, the Pope is as it were God on earth, Sole sovereign of all the faithful of Christ, chief king of kings, having a plentitude of unbroken power, entrusted by the omnipotent God to govern the earthly and heavenly kingdoms."

#30. "The Pope is of so great authority and power, that he is able to modify, declare, or interpret even divine laws."

Obviously there wasn't much attention paid to the scriptures when the Pope declared that. It's comes as no surprise that the church of Rome fell away, when a man if sin was leading them.

"Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God." (2Thes.2 3&4)

"Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth." (1Tim.4 1-3)

Wow. That sounds a little more authoritative than a post-it memo.

#13. "Hence the Pope is crowned with a triple crown, as king of heaven and of earth and of the lower regions."
Maybe he can help me with with problems in my lower regions.

This guy sounds like he read Unam Sanctum & liked it.

I know you are just being funny but there are a good number of Catholics that are charismatic.
The Catholic Charismatic Renewal is a movement (or, more accurately, a "current of grace") within the Catholic Church emphasizing the release of more of the power and gifts of the Holy Spirit in a continuing and New Pentecost for all Catholics; the aim is to have the Renewal become part of the experience of all Catholics and not simply remain the experience of just one group or segment of Catholics. Worship is characterized by vibrant Masses, as well as prayer meetings featuring prophecy and sometimes glossolalia, or "speaking in tongues." This movement is based on the belief that certain charisms (a Greek word for gifts), bestowed by the Holy Spirit, such as the abilities to speak in tongues and to heal (which Christians generally believe existed somehow in the early Church as described in the Bible) should still be practiced today.

A Catholic church in Ann Arbor, Michigan describes charismatic prayer:
"A charismatic style of prayer is common at Christ the King. People are free to raise their hands in prayer and during songs, many pray their own prayers audibly, some pray in tongues, etc.... They pray with expressive or charismatic prayer at monthly parish prayer meetings, at the beginning of parish meetings, and most especially during certain moments in the Holy Mass. These are some of the external markers of a charismatic parish. Internal markers include a radical surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ in all parts of life, a strong adherence to the Gospel and the teachings of the Catholic Church, and the pursuit of strong friendships centered on Christ."

The Atreides Mentat, Noree Moneo begins the long campaign ahead addressing the men of the Duke. Many of these fresh-faced, yet adeptly trained young men have come to Arrakis in hopes of becoming rich and taking home many exotic trinkets (if not a handful of spice). Noree reminds them that Arrakis is not a treasure trove to be dipped into, but a deathtrap, and easily the most dangerous planet within the Imperium. He reminds them not to fight for themselves, but to fight for the Duke!

The Pope, King of the world?
Ever read the Bull Unam Sanctum?
Check it out, especially the last part.

Along those lines take a look also at this...Also...

I'd tell you what I think of the pope, but the moderators would pitch a fit (although, ironically, they have no problem with the things Catholics say about us. Weird, huh?)

It will be a cold day in Hell before I'll bow my knee to their pope.

I just disagree a little with the Catholic's Pope on the Scriptures. I have nothing against him personally :)

Matt 10:23 "Whenever yet they may be pursuing/persecuting ye in the city, this, be fleeing into the other.
For Amen I am saying to ye, not no ye should be finishing the cities of the Israel till ever may be coming the Son of the Man". [Matt 23:34]

http://www.greatsite.com/timeline-english-bible-history/william-tyndale.html

A clergyman hopelessly entrenched in Roman Catholic dogma once taunted Tyndale with the statement, “We are better to be without God’s laws than the Pope’s”. Tyndale was infuriated by such Roman Catholic heresies, and he replied, “I defy the Pope and all his laws. If God spare my life ere many years, I will cause the boy that drives the plow to know more of the scriptures than you!”...........

..........He was tried for heresy and treason in a ridiculously unfair trial, and convicted. Tyndale was then strangled and burnt at the stake in the prison yard, Oct. 6, 1536.

My sentiments exactly, i see the vatican as usurpers of truth...Declaring lies as truth- the donations of constantine....Demanding salvation within the catholic church ONLY- unam sanctum...the blood of christ following saints spilled by them throughout the centuries and they claim to be the only church and to have an indefectible head...

You are still promoting the lies that the Catholic Church demands salvation through only the Pope?

Even after countless of evidence to prove you are were wrong and still harping on Unum Sanctum even though it was never accepted doctrine of the Catholic Church and the Pope who declared unum Sanctum was ran out of office?

Even after people on here continued to show you exactly what the Catholic church teaches about Salvation in other Christian Faiths from The CC, to Vatican II to JP II's statements, you are still carrying on with this charade?

Also how many people did the Calvinist's murder not only here but abroad. *hint those hanging them witches in Salem and in tghe south weren't Catholic*
You should really study the notorious acts commited by your Christian Faith(Calvinist) before you start pointing any fingers;)

Hint, Calivn liked to burn people

In other news, "context," "the greater historical picture," and "the actual teachings" were found brutally murdered in their third story apartment this morning. The three shared the apartment for several millennia. The tenets say they were usually quiet and didn't cause much trouble. More details as the story develops.

You seem to be forgetting quite a bit in this paragraph here. You know, like the actual teachings of the Catholic Church regarding salvation, and the rest of the history of religiously-motivated human violence...
