Well since we're shouting, Why would you ask me that question? Why don't you just ask homosexual couples that question? I'm sure they'd be happy to tell you.

It's an open forum. Was directed to whomever thought they wanted to answer the question. Homosexual or not.

Persecution complex much? The only sad thing around here is the fossilization of human thought, and scripture does that quite nicely.

You are assuming I have never spoken to anybody who could read those languages. That pastor at my old church could, for example. He showed the church some of the common mistranslations that existed.

I'm afraid I don't have some handy link to point you to, since this was the pastor at my old church that pointed this out and he wasn't exactly the Internet type.

This does bring up an interesting question, and since this thread involves the Pope, let me just ask you this:

I am going to assume you are not a Catholic. If that is true, then you follow sola scripture. The problem is upon who's authority does your interpretation of the scripture rest? When I was a Christian, if I read the Bible and then you did, and we had some disagreements on points, who would be correct?

If I have a verse that points to my ideas, and you have one that points to yours, who is there to settle these differences? Different churches have different takes and interpretations, so who is correct? Why are they correct and not others?

From a pastor at a church in Maryland that doesn't keep a website with all these things. I am not saying that the whole thing is mistranslated, but I'm sure you'd agree that you are not reading the completely original words.

He'll just check to see if you believed upon His Son as your salvation.

I don't have hatred and disdain towards gays, so, I wouldn't take offense at someone mistakenly assuming I was gay. (like you did, but you still refuse to admit that's why you attached your question to my remarks) Give up on the red herrings and mind reading. Come clean, and just admit that you thought you were addressing your question to a gay person, and that you made a mistake. Is that too difficult for you? Does your ego not allow you to admit a mistake?

There is no language on earth that can be 100% directly and accurately translated into any other language, that is fact.

I don't remember saying you were gay. In fact I never even gave it a thought until you started ranting and raving about it. Your choice of sexuality had no bearing on the question.

Your lack of belief doesn't make Him nonexistent. Surely you of great mind realize that it isn't what one believes that brings something to be. And so it follows that it isn't what one disbelieves that causes it not to exist.
