Palin is getting out and speaking to voters every day.
How many of those voters are asking tough questions or being generally skeptical?

The rallies I've seen Palin at are all cheerleading stops. She's there to keep the red voters happy and to deliver a stump speech which often reiterates the same old debunked claims about Obama to an audience that won't call her on it.

...as opposed to all of the opposition Obama and Biden are facing at their events.

Palin has been a coward plain and simple.

When I first saw her hit the airwaves after being selected, I never imagined she'd be this doggone awful as a candidate.

I have criticisms of McCain, but they pale in comparison to what I've got to say about Palin.

"Getting in front of the camera" is not the same as being interviewed with "hard questions". Palin is getting out and speaking to voters every day.

Yes, here's the routine:

- Rush past the reporters to the podium in order to avoid answering questions
- Deliver a canned attack speech
- Rush past the reporters to escape before they can ask questions

The Daily Show had some amusing video footage of this routine on Monday.

That is indeed the MO.

I saw that as well...it was more embarrassing to watch than funny.

I mean this is the VP pick we're talking about here! Not Bill Gates who's afraid of getting a pie in the face.

She needs to talk directly TO the American people...not AT them!
Big difference.

Palin has done interviews with ABC's Charlie Gibson and CBS's Katie Couric, and local TV folks. But why is she so scared of NBC's Brian Williams? And why is she so fearful of CNN?

Does she somehow think that our big guns like Wolf Blitzer, Anderson Cooper and Campbell Brown are just too tough in asking questions? My goodness, Tina Fey has actually done more interviews about playing Sarah Palin than Sarah Palin has done about being Sarah Palin! :D :D

Hmmm. McCain, Sen. Joe Biden, Barack and Michelle Obama, Sen. Hillary Clinton, Cindy McCain and even McCain's 95-year-old momma and Palin's daddy have all done interviews with CNN, sharing their thoughts on the campaign. But Palin? Not a whisper.

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/10/14/martin.campaign/index.html
********************************************************************************************************

FACT: No vice presidential candidate in memory has been less accessible to the national media than Sarah Palin. WHY?

FACT: Governor Palin performs relatively well in structured situations BUT floundered when Katie Couric started asking "follow up" questions - requiring more indepth knowledge. WHY?

FACT: Given that the McCain Campaign has had almost 7 weeks to "fast-track Palin's knowledge of the issues and that their "ticket" is significantly behind in the polls - why are they not allowing their "star" v.p. candidate a major role in promoting Republican issues on the media circuit?

Perhaps the only plausible conclusion is that the McCain Campaign has come to the stark realization that Sarah Palin, despite her many strengths, has major limitations concerning understanding and articulating complex issues.

Sarah Palin's Academic Scores (http://www.scribd.com/doc/6473754/Sarah-Palin-Stats)
*****************************************************************************
1. Wechsler IQ (grade 12/1982) - scored at 12.8357 percentile (between -3 and -4 standard deviations)

2. Grade 12 grade point average 2.2
English - B
Math - C
Biological Sciences - B
Physical Sciences - C
Social Sciences - C
Foreign Languages - D

3. SAT Scores
English - 425
Math - 416

Unfortunately, Sarah Palin was never sufficiently "vetted" to determine whether she had the mental and verbal skillls to function at the highest levels of American politics.

If Sarah Pailin was capable of answering the "tough questions," the McCain Campaign would have "showcased" their "emerging star" with the national media long ago.

No, as opposed to the opposition Obama and Biden are facing IN THEIR PRESS INTERVIEWS. Did you even notice that you just stitched together a strawman?

Come on, Obama interviewed with O'reilly. That's as hostile an interviewer as you could get. You think Palin is showing courage? Match that one.

I think it was a natural accidental power trip. She was young and not fully wise.

I mostly agree with you. She wasn't ready to be chosen for this role, and she certainly needed more time to prepare before being thrust into an election as a national candidate.

She is still genuinly a good person

I do think a person of more integrity would decline to speak some of the words the campaign is putting into her mouth. It's one thing to say these things the first time, perhaps not knowing what is true and what is not, but when all the more neutral fact checking sources point out repeatedly that she's being deceptive - for the purpose of character assasination - and she continues to do so day after day ... that's not being a genuinely good person.

Of course, if she would take questions and grant interviews, she would be confronted with all of this.

I don't know her so I will give her benefit of the doubt on being a a good person. I think she is caught up in more than she expected. That is the only reaosn I can think of that she would not come out and condemn the comments being made at her rallies.

At any rate I saw piece today on the Today Show and they were talking about how many Moms basically show up with their Downs Syndrome kids. They and she stated there is a bond there that transcends Politics and that is the one thing I can see and understand how it would, still not a good reason to vote for that ticket but I understand their support of her.

Oh...my...gosh.

I had no idea her grades were that bad! Jeez.

Who gets a C in Social Sciences???

I don't care what anyone says. I would *really* like my President and VP to be much smarter (and capable) than me. Her grades in high school look about like mine and I was on DOPE at the time!!!!!
(wish I was joking about that)

Yeah. I don't doubt she's a nice lady and a good mom.

But those two qualities alone do not a good VP make.

Is there anybody able to point me to supporting evidence for the authenticity of the records displayed at http://www.scribd.com/doc/6473754/Sarah-Palin-Stats?

An IQ of 83?
87% of Americans are smarter than Sarah Palin?

There are enough smears going around that I really like to see some evidence this is authentic before I get too excited.

I don't find her senior year grades relevant at all and really consider it no different than Obama is a Muslim or is a citizen.

I don't either.

If, however, it turns out to be true that she has an IQ of 83, dropped out of 5 colleges, and has never been able to do well in school, then I wonder how she will understand foreign policy, the American constitution, the federal budget, and the other things that a President needs to manage.

But let's wait until we know whether these records are genuine.

Sarah Palin has shown incredible courage during this 3 ring circus we call an election. She truly has been an inspiration to me. The attacks are the most brutal I have ever seen in an election. Our nation has become a cesspool of mockers of good, how sad.. I pray for my sister daily.

Extreme stupidity is to be applauded, why?

I'm a farmer and can relate to the wolf problem. I have sheep, but they have no natural enemies here (although I have had foxes kill my chickens).

I do have deer who destroy my crops and, yes, I do kill them. They're pests and they're destructive.

Ever seen what wolves can do to a flock of sheep?

The deer were there before you were and have just as much right to that area as you do and actually more, I also turn in people like you.
