• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

And I haven't retaliated..

and sad..

Hi Glenda!

Hi HD.. Hope all is well with you..:)

:hug:I can tell this has been very painful for you. I just want you to know I love you, I respect you and I'm praying for you. Peace.

Thank you so much..

I so appreciate your love and prayers..

Yes it is very hard.. we had been with them 2 or 3 times a week (or more) for 3 years.. their kids called us Grandpa & Grandma (their real grandparents are in Puerto Rico)

But when a situation gets more painful being there than leaving, it is time to go..

But we will continue to pray that he reaches the destiny that God has in mind for him.

:wave:ing back at ya..:)

Thanks for your prayers. Got some information today on receiving unemployment comp. Two choices: either apply now and receive a lesser amount or wait until July and receive a slightly larger amount. (The way this state calculates amount is based on quarterly earnings and a formula only a mathematician could love.) So I guess i will wait two more weeks and hope I don't have a crisis in the meantime.

Tomorrow is the first day of summer. Hope all of you are doing well.

I would like for us to do a study together, so we are all on the same page, something we are "doing together". I don't want the fellowship to stop, and certainly not the prayer, but I believe our relationships will be stronger. I believe we will grow in the Lord as a result of studying something together. I want everyone to have a part. Everyone has something to say, something to add that we can benefit from.

I'd like for us to start with the book of James. It's a short book in the New Testament, only 5 chapters. We can take one week for each chapter. I thought a week would be good b/c we can't all be here every day, and b/c there's a lot of meat in James. What we do is read chapter 1 this week, 6/22 - 6/28, asking the Lord to speak to us as we read it, and bring things to the table here to share that come out of our time with the Lord in the book of James.

Will you do this with us? I can't express strongly enough how this will bind us together. We are living in days that are treacherous, days in which the enemy seeks to sift us like wheat. I think every one of us here are facing some sort of difficulty. This is a time when we need one another more than ever. Nothing can take the place of our time alone with the Lord, but also, nothing can take the place of relationships in the Lord. There are things we will receive from one another that just won't happen alone with the Lord. And of course there are things we receive form the Lord that only He can minister. He designed us to be interdependent on one another. We are a body.

Are you in?

Hi Jere,

You are welcome here. We just chat about life and, occasionally, listen to Cindy preach.

I know you'll fit right in. I'm the odd ball..... maybe the only guy left. Used to have a few others.

But tell us about yourself and make yourself at home.
Yes, do tell us about yourself, and what brought you here. What are you desiring from your time at CF?

Mark, what has happened to the men? I was just thinking about sl yesterday. I think of him often. He sure was a blessing. Hope one day the Lord leads him back here. I'm figuring for now he is focusing on spending time with his wife now that they're together again. Hallelujah!

Just so you know, Jere, he fellowshipped with us for a time, a dark time for him. His wife had left him, had a gambling problem, and he came here to be strengthened. He often strengthened us. The Lord called him into ministry, we prayed as he was ordained into the ministry, and his wife became more distant. He stood firm on the Word, in prayer, and in love towards her. He returned after a few weeks away from the thread to tell us they are together! This was an answer to prayer! We all rejoiced with him.

"We occasionally listen to Cindy preach." :o I'm not sure if this is a good thing or not!

Yes, Cindy. I am in. I could not bring myself to do anything for the past two days. I sat here mostly all day in my recliner, knowing there was a ton of things to do, but could not do them. I just did not have the strength, emotional nor physical. I am NOT a weak person, but lately I am drained. By committing to this, maybe it will be what I need to find my way once again.
God bless

That's a big answer to prayer! :)

lol, Cindy. I've read your posts, and I know there's a lot of wisdom, love and compassion, mixed with gentle chastisement at times there. So, it's all good. You are one of the few I know that can encourage and exhort while bringing correction when needed. :)

Tell you about me? lol. I am 48 as you can see. Will be 49 in September. I am Godsgirljuju's parent. I have 3 grandchildren, 1 daughter.
I've been a born again spirit filled Christian for 12plus years, walking faithfully 12 of them with the Lord Jesus.
God bless
I look forward to getting to know you all more..

Please dear family through Christ would you stand with me in agreement for healing of a nasty bug trying to go through our family.. Thanking you.. :) ((hugs))

Sorry, I must have missed this! Yes, I'd love to pray for you.

Heavenly Father, I stand in agreement for healing for peacechild and peacechild's family. We command a hedge of protection against all infirmity for her and her family. Let your kingdom come, right now, to this family. Let there be healing, strength and protection. In Jesus' name. Thank you Lord, thank you. You are mighty and wonderful, and we praise your holy name.

Jere, I'm praying for you too. Lord, strengthen her at all levels, give her peace, vitality and joy. Heal her heart and give her wisdom and clarity. Holy Spirit, reveal to her what she needs to know, and show her what she needs to do. Help her to rest in You and trust in You fully. Thank you Lord, thank you. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen

I'm sending you a big Todd Bentley type of BAM!!!

Lord, fill Mark with your presence, touch him, transform him, fill him with your joy, hope, power, boldness, confidence, complete and thorough trust in you. Anoint this season. Let it be a time of supernatural provision and favor. Bless him. Let his cup overflow with offers, prosperity, health and loving, supportive relationships. Yes, Lord. Bring to him now all you have planned for him. Thank you Lord, thank you. In Jesus' holy and precious name. Amen.

Do you, and you too, Jere......I guess I forgot to click on your post's multiquote....sorry.....question is, do you feel one chapter a week is about right for us, too little too much, or even this....too soon to start? The thought crossed my mind to invite the WoF group at large, or some from lilmiss's thread, or even BarbaraJean's thread. If I did, that would require time for them to see it and think about it. I'm leaning to leaving it with us, at least for now. If too many participate, we lose the closeness. It gets hard to respond to everybody, and then inevitably someone will be left out.

I want to make it clear that this is everyone's study. I am merely a facilitator. If I teach it is only b/c it's woven onto my DNA. :D This is not "my class", or "my pulpit". What will make this most productive is everyone's involvement, as much or as little as you're lead/able. Minimum would be one post on the chapter per week.

Other posts are still welcome, as I said before, like pc4's request for her family, and so on. Or even something like this - "I'm here. Too tired to really talk, but thinking about you all." This let's us know you're still a part, but maybe had a tiring day. At least you showed up!

We want to refrain form excessive negativity. It will not only make the group drag, and pull you down more. There's a way to express needs, and it is very important to express them. We must feel liberty to be open and honest without fear of judgment. Just remember, this is an open forum, a public place, and anyone can show up. Pm's are an alternative to keep in mind. Most things I prefer to keep in the open. Then we have the benefit of everyone's input. In the multitude of counselors is safety.

Any thoughts?

By the way, I am so happy about the yes'es from you!
