I wish I could do crocheting? My grandmother did it but she was righthand and I'm a lefty.

Does anyone know how to make really big pom-poms?
Hurray! I finish #11 calander. Now I can start on 12.
Finished the shawl for Zoe and got most of the fringe tied at church (I have people say a prayer and tie a knot in a strand of fringe to represent all the prayers they have/are/will be saying for her). I will finish the fringe myself for the most part - I have a friend who needs to tie some - she is Zoe's neice, but was away for the weekend. Then I will ship it off to N.C.
Now back to the wedding gift that seems to be taking forever!!!!!
The wedding gift is a filet table runner and matching corners for placemats. It is for my husband's nephew and needs to be done by Aug. 15th. I'm pretty sure I will make the deadline -- unless somethng more urgent comes along. For some reason I do not have a problem with putting this project aside for something else. An odd position for me.
Sounds amazing! I'm going to get around to a filet project eventually. I'm looking for some nice placemat patterns. I want to make them out of a medium sized yarn, not worsted weight but not thread either.
Annie's Attic has/had some placemats done in yarns of various sizes. You might check their site.
Another idea is come up with your own. Pick a stitch pattern you like, find your yarn and hook combo and make a rectangle the size you want. You can always take a ruler to the dollar store and measure the cloth ones they have if you are unsure about size. If you want to get fancy add a lacy edge in a contrasting color or yarn (a size 3 or 5 perle cotton goes nice with baby sport yarn).
I'm finally on #12 calendar.
