  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What are you working on now?

I finished Zoe's shawl, got lots of people to tie fringe knots and it was dellivered to her last week. I got a very nice email from her -- she LOVES it!! It will be a great comfort to her while she is away from home for treatment. She is doing great by the way and hopes to be home in a few weeks.

Congrats!

I'm also working on some trim on a knit top. It's kind of an experiement. It's a sleeveless knit top. I was able to actually push my crochet hook through the material. The trim around the bottom was easy but now I'm trying to add sleeves. It looks nice but I think that if I keep going as it is that it's going to be too wide. I'm now going to try a couple rows to decrease.

working on this in gray. We're going on a cruise in September(:clap::clap:) and a gray shawl will match most of my dress options!

I may then try this one: in black...there's another one I'm thinking about, but can't find it!

just finished working on my 5th quilt in July. I never thought i'd make it when i started--it's definitely more than i've ever done in a month before.:p

the whole idea began as a challenge to see if we could finish quilts that were UFO's, and someone came up with the idea that since there were 5 weeks in July to do a quilt a week.
I made two new quilts; both were the disapearing 9 patch pattern which was fun to work on. the other three quilts were UFO's that needed to be machine quilted and bound. One of them had been waiting 3 years, so i tackled that one first.

it felt so good to finally sleep under that quilt that i just had to keep on going.

This is the other shawl/capelet I'm crocheting for my cruise (woohoo!!!:clap::clap::clap:)

It was a bit of a pain to convert to American hooks and abbreviations so I hope it turns out OK.

Drops has some AWESOME free patterns!

Finished up the wedding set (except for weaving in the ends--UGH), made up a quick yellow oversized granny in sport for a friend's new grandson and am working on another babyghan for our former pastor's new grandson. School starts on Monday (yikes!), have 3 weeks until the wedding in PA and lots to do before we leave.

I am going to have a go at finishing off a lot of projects that have got buried in my workbag. I have a baby sweater to finish and also some baby prem items to finish off. I am hoping to have some time to do all this now that we are at the hospital for my husband to have 6 weeks of radiotherapy to treat his brain tumour. We are home for the weekend, which is so fortunate as I left all my patterns behind - what a :doh:doh thing to do.

Blessings to you all
