  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Galatians 3:13-14

Obviously, "the blessing of Abraham" means more than just receiving the Holy Spirit. So what is entailed in "the blessing of Abraham", in your estimation?

I don't really want a debate on healing.
I just want a listing of blessings here for edification and encouragement.
If you don't like the listing of healing here, just ignore it!!!

'i will make you into a great nation'....

the tanakh says that god's desire is for Isra'el to become a 'nation of priests'. Later Paul talks of non-jews being grafted into Isra'el by faith, the faith of Abraham, making us partakers of the divine promises. The new testament then goes on to say about the congregation of faith, 'i will make you a holy nation, a royal priesthood'.

If we as remnant isra'el and believing gentiles are the heirs to this promise, how are we to act out our calling as priests??? What are the offerings we should bring???? What are the sacrifices??? How is righteousness displayed in everyday life (not talking about imputed here)????

Um, QC, the redemption that is in Jesus Christ is the blessing of Abraham that comes upon the Gentiles.
13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”), 14 that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. (Galatian 3)

Jesus became a curse for us so we can be free from the curses as described in Deuteromy 28.

Christ became a curse (sing.) for us, not curses (pl.) for us. In particular, he bore in Himself the “curse of the law” (Gal. 3.30). The curse of the law is the judgment of God against sin. That is the curse “Jesus became.” The curses of Deut. 28 have nothing to do with it.
